Am-B/Pro-C PDGA sanctioned tournament

Two 27 hole rounds at Westpark, in Joliet, IL. (3 temp holes)

Westpark is one of the most popular courses in the Joliet area. Hole 2 is an easy shot down from the top of the ridge to the basket below, while hole 11, The Green Mile, is a long shot with a fairway that narrows significantly from the halfway point to the pin. The course plays thru mature oaks. Tee pads are natural.

The current plan is to add the same 3 temp holes between 8 and 10 that we added for Chain Reaction. Each year, we will try to add something to put the "wild" in The Wild West. This year, we will be adding some unique OB lines from holes 6 thru 11, including the temp holes. The current plan is to change hole 11 (The Green Mile) into "Three Mile Island", a monster hole with an island green, and two large islands in the fairway forcing you to plan your landing spot.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged. By pre-registering, you help us run a smoother tournament. You can pre-register at the shop (1706 W. Jefferson St), or online at: http://www.acesandchains.com/node/791

Day of Registration (if spots are available) and Check-In will be between 8am-9am both days. Please check in when you get there. There will be no late fee for "day of" registration.

Players meeting will be held at 9:15am. Tee off at approx. 9:30am. Tournament headquarters will be in the pavillion above hole 8. The pavillion is off Wheeler Ave.

Tentative division schedule:

Saturday:

Advanced
Recreational
All Am Masters divisions
All Women's divisions
All Jr.s

Sunday:

Pro Open
All Open Masters
Intermediate
Novice

Tournament fee is $35 if you are a current PDGA member, or $45 if you are not a member. $2 Ace, and $3 CTP funds. And, if paying online, or in the shop by credit card, there is a $2 processing fee. All cash registrations do not pay the processing fee.

This is the last Aces and Chains PDGA Tournament of the year, and your last chance to add points to your total toward qualifying for the AC Finals.

I am very happy to announce that we will be giving away a new Limited Edition Fade Gear bag to the 1st place winner of the Novice, Recreational, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions, in addition to their other winnings.

Big thanks to Fade Gear for showing a local tournament some love! We have a new order of their bags coming in soon, including the newest LE Tournament bag. Be sure to support a company that supports the sport!

Players Pack:

1.) Choice of one tournament stamped disc or one $10 gift card for pre-registered players. (Players who register the day of get the $10 gift card)

2.) Everyone gets two stickers and a tournament poster (artwork by Mike Kursell!)

So, pre-register and get yourself a disc (up to $19 value) instead of the gift card. We ordered Glow Bosses, Glow Destroyers, Glow Sidewinders, and Glow Coyotes for this tournament. You're not limited to those four models though, we have a wall of tournament stamped discs from other tournaments to choose from. Off the top of my head, I know we have Glow Archons, Glow Xcals, Glow Firebirds, Glow Orcs, SS Buzzz's, Z Buzzz'z, Crystal Nukes, Crystal Stalkers, Glow buzzz's, and more.

Short tees both rounds, both days.

We will have 27 holes total, with OB lines on 6, 8b, 8c, 9, and a 3 island fairway on hole 11 (3-mile island). So, I don't want to slow play down any further by including the long tees for one of the rounds. Thanks for the question!

is the course going to be closed to the public, by any chance? Im just thinkn thats a ton of holes, and any added chuckers could really slow down the pace.  Or maybe it wont, what do i know?  thanks

I will have signs posted at the bulletin board, and by hole one's tee "Tournament in progress, course closed."

Plus, I was allowed to put up the OB flags and twine a week early. So, a lot of the casual players will see that, and realize that a tournament is coming. And if they check the bulletin board, I have a tournament poster up as well.
