Doug I did some pretty extensive research and saw that the Steelers have actually lost to two teams with losing records. As a Pittsburgh fan, would you prefer to lose to teams with losing records, or beat teams with losing records?

Almost everything you post on the football threads is bullshit Doug because thats pretty much all you post. You post about things that haven't happened yet. Who can argue against that? You complain about the Bears schedule. No one here made the schedule so who can argue about that. You post vile things like an eight year old stirs up a hornets nest with a stick. You post all of this bullshit just so you can sit back and giggle like a little boy about how clever you are. You and your rapist QB have a lot in common.

never once did I complain about anyones schedule. just stated the obvious.
I have said it once, I guess I have to treat you like an 8 yr old and say it again, you don't have to read my posts. if I always post bullshit, why would you even want to read it?
and the last comment, if you care to clarify, you can do it like a man, and not a moderator, hoping I will say something out of line, or on the computer period, you can talk like that to me face to face, if you feel you need to??

glad I got you doing something productive Taylor. about time you did research on a good team  ;) (how bout the Tigers?)
but to answer your question, I would rather win versus every team! but if I had to choose, I would want to beat teams with the losing record.  But come on, I had to respond to the SB worthy comment. very suprised I waited 2 days!
And we are not talking about the Steelers were we? Losing to Titans and Raiders pretty much put us in a very deep hole. Luckily the Ravens are gonna struggle without Ray and Webb in that lineup. even with a loss against the Giants this week, the Steelers can still win those 2 games against Balt and win the division. I don't get excited 7 weeks in, I am usually just done watching baseball at this time  ;)
But I will just come back to this thread in January and see how excited they are. Dan is the only one talking any sense about his team. and we know he knows his teams.

was referring to that NFC Championship game where someone got hurt and rode a stationary bike, then poutted on the bench.(Brees and Rivers played with that same injury) The Pittsburgh player plays with broken bones!! Ben is in the Elite QB talk, Cutler NEVER is!!

and Jason, you talk about my BS, what about your's when you said the Bears D is SB worthy?? who have they beat over .500? Indy at 4-3 is it. all other wins are from sub .500 teams. Lets see how they fare against the Texans, 49ers, Packers and Vikings!? beat a team that has a winning record then maybe get excited. But honestly, this offense wont beat a Giants, or Packers in the playoffs.  so put the pipe down and wait until January to talk about being SB worthy.  geeeessh ::)

#1, I said the D appears to be Super Bowl worthy.  Time to get those old eyes checked again?  They have only played 7 games and they look great so far, but the O must improve to make it through the playoffs or it will not matter how good the D is.

#2, Other than San Fran...is there a better Defense in the NFL right now????

#3, I can't wait for the Bears games against the Texans and the 49ers!!!

#4, Right now, your Steelers only look like a playoff bound team because of the easy schedule.

pdga#7648

If the Steelers look like a playoff team, no one should be suprised. That's the norm for them. although for several years now it has been 2 years in playoffs then miss 1 year. well this is the year after 2 straight appearances, so who knows?
But I will let you all enjoy the wins as they come, since we all know you guys are not really used to Chicago teams looking good at all.  I will come back to this topic later in the year and see how all my Chicago friends are doing  ;D  Best of luck.

and oh yeah Jason, I will be thinking about you after the Texans and 49ers games. no posts will be necessary though, as you will be laying low, probably not even on here at all? lmao

I try to let more stuff slide in the off topic areas because they're off topic. I don't like it when people derail tournament threads.

Anyway, take what I said in my rant with a grain of salt. I can only take so many of your baited posts before I take the bait. It will always irritate me that you take a Bears thread and turn it into a discussion about the Steelers. My comparison of you to your QB was just that you both have an irritating cock-sure attitude about yourselves. You only online. I haven't found you to be offensive in real life. I do try to skip over your posts as much as possible but when you post in my favorite off topic thread it makes it more difficult as I can't follow the conversation without reading all the posts.

just to clarify, this thread was started on 9-912. I posted once on 9-10 and 9-16 not realted to the Steelers unless Taylor asked a question. I had not been back for 5 pages of posts until Tom and yourself brought up the ugly STEELERS uniforms. I chimed in. I don't turn this topic into the Steelers, you guys do!! Talk about my favorite team, of course I will say my 2 cents, like it or not.
Cock-sure attitude?? seriously? like Monday nights, CMON MAN!!  I am sorry I cheer for teams that win year in and year out. hard not to be confident when they are in the playoffs as much as they are. but to hold that against me is pretty childish. Me and Dan used to go back and forth, but as you can see that has stopped. He chose to ignore my posts. Again, sorry if I remind you of how bad your teams usually are. But the street runs 2 ways. when I get TEBOWED, like last year, I am one that has to return the fun! and that is all this is to me, sorry you guys aren't able to ignore it.  Now if I did it daily I could understand, but I only usually chime in when I get back up off the floor from laughing so hard.  ;D

and I don't think I have ever derailed a tourny thread. I post here where it is "shoot the breeze".

Enjoy the season!

Great first half of the season. This Bears D is unreal. I'm a believer. If Trent Dilfer can win a SB this team is capable of it.

Unlike the last time the Bears played in a SB, this season's version includes noticeable upgrades at QB and WR.

I can't wait to see how the Bears stack up against Houston on Sunday night!!!

I have never seen anyone punch a ball out as good as Tillman did it yesterday! 3 times he punched out a fumble! Hard to believe that before the late games, the Bears D was somewhere behind #1 S.F. and #2 Pittsburgh for overall defense??  :o   thats what the announcers said anyway?

I'm a believer that our defense is playing at an extremely high level right now.  I'm not quite a SB believer yet.  I want to see the next 2 games (vs HOU, @ SF) before getting too carried away.  I'm not saying we have to win both games to be considered a serious contender.  But, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this team performs against those 2 teams.  Should be interesting.

Can't argue with that.  However, its hard to argue the overall offense is better than 2006.  In 2006 the Bears were ranked slightly above average in both Rushing and Passing.  They were the 15th best offense overall in terms of yardage.  In 2012 the Bears are near the bottom, 25th in terms of total yardage.  That number is perhaps skewed a bit by the fact we've gotten out to some big leads and have been able to play it conservative.  But, I'd still say the 2006 offense out-performed the offense that I've seen over the first 8 games of 2012.

I think the difference is the O line. Better QB, WR and a good RB but they just can't get any consistency with that line. At times the line seems to be better than last year...just hope that turns into some better production on Sunday.

Sure the number is skewed, but the O Line needs to figure out how to improve on pass protection.  The '06 version of the Bears line was much better.  It will be interesting to see how they handle JJ Watt, especially on passing plays Sunday night.  I believe he will be matched up primarily against Carimi unless the Texans decide to move him around.

Tice's play calling has been a source of concern as well.  I hope they stick with the running game.

I'm still a believer in this team. The defense is fantastic. As bad as that was we had opportunities. Our TE's and WR's are awful outside of #15.

Side note. If #15 continues this pace he'll crack the all time Bears top 50 in WR yards.

On the downside, the offense still looks terrible.  On the upside, anybody's offense would have looked terrible in the conditions last night.  I don't think we learned anything from that game.

Plenty of opportunities to prove ourselves lie immediately ahead.  @SF, vs MN, vs SEA, @MN, vs GB

Win 3 of those 5 and a good chance we go 12-4 and get a 1st round bye.  If the offense continues at this horrid pace, there is a decent chance we'll lose 3 or 4 of those games, go in as a WC team, and be 1 and done.  This is a QB driven league.  Nobody is going to come in and save this offensive line.  Cutler has to play better with what he has, period.

I wish that they just would have run the ball in the last 10 minutes of the game. Four yards and a cloud of mud!

No sacks allowed by the Bears O Line last night.  I'd say that is a remarkable feat against the Texans who have racked up at least 2 sacks in every other game they have played this year.

Tice is still the worst part of the O.  At this point, can he really be considered an upgrade over Martz?

The sad part is there were opportunities to make plays that could have changed the outcome of the game. Gould missed FG, Cutler over the line?, Marshall dropped TD, Bush Fumble after a huge 4th down, David dropped pass & fumble.

It still took Houston one heck of a Foster TD catch to beat us.

It could be the battle of the backup QB this week.

I read that this is Cutler's 4th concussion in college and pro. I read in another article that it was his 6th. How many is too many? There's more to life than football. I hope he will know when to say when.
