I thought 2 of the offensive PI calls on Jeffery were not needed.  Typically they just let the guys play when both sides are getting physical like that.  The one where they called it on Shields after Jeffery grabbed him by the face mask and threw him out of bounds seemed to precipitate the rest of the calls.  It got a little ridiculous.

No matter how you shake it down, the Bears still couldn't score points.  I mean, 1st and Goal from the 5 and we took 4 cracks at it and came up empty.  Tells you all you need to know.

Maybe Arizona will do us a favor and put us out of our misery next week.  It'd be nice to have a dog in the fight for the playoffs, but watching the Bears score 1 TD per game is just getting depressing.  I'm ready for it to be over.

It would be fitting for us to start 7-1 and finish 1-7.  A palindrome season to finish out Lovie's career as a Bear.

The Bears D is old and beat up.  As bad as Martz was last year, Tice is even worse this season.  How is it that Cuter is STILL not on the same page with his receivers in Week 15????   >:(

The refs should never be as involved in any game as they were in yesterday's debacle.

Unfortunately, I believe Lovie will be back next year if he wins 1 more game.

I don't see what is pointing you in that direction.

While I'd like to believe that Emery can and should make the call to fire Lovie, he is due $5,000,000 next year.  Historically, the McCaskeys have not been willing to pay someone to do nothing.  Also, mama bear Virginia loves Lovie.

If Lovie can finish with a winning record, Virginia and Emery will not agree on Lovie's future.

Nearly every single NFL coach goes into a season with at least 2 years remaining on their current deal.  2013 is the last year on Lovie's current contract.  If the Bears do not make the playoffs now, how could Emery feel comfortable giving Lovie an extension?

I hope that at the end of day the McCaskeys remember why they hired Emery and allow their General Manager to do his job.

Another wasted season of having a championship defense. All the offense has to do is not totally suck. Average sucking and this team would be 2-3 loss team. What a joke!

Cutler, Marshall and Forte. If the rest of the offense would have been just marginally ok they would have clinched the division already.

I don't know who all is to blame but I'm ready for a change. "When its time to change, its time to rearrange..."

Actually they fired the last coach, Dick Jauron, with 1 year remaining on his deal.

That is true, but Jauron went 4-12 and 7-9 after his only playoff appearance (a loss at home to the Eagles).  His final record with the Bears was 35-45 when he got fired.

Lovie's current record is 79-63.

Look like it comes down to 1 game? Bears have to win and MN has to lose to GB.

This is a win/win to me.

If the Bears win and MN loses we are in the playoffs.
If the Bears lose or MN wins Lovie Smith gets fired!

I don't view the Bears losing as a win, regardless of whether Lovie gets fired.  I would like to see a new look for this team though.  The Lovie days have been somewhat successful, but its gotten stale.  He's a talented defensive coach, no doubt about it.  I think this city just wants to see some points scored for once.  We need offensive minded people making the decisions.

It annoys me that the GB/MN game was flexed back to 330pm.  If the Bears win, I'm not looking forward to watching that game and rooting for the Packers.

Season done.  Of course the MF'in Packers couldn't help us out.  I pray to Jesus that the Vikings beat them again next week.

My gut tells me Lovie will head into next year as the head coach.  Without an extension though, he'll be coaching for his job next year.  Mike Tice will be gone and the search for Lovie's 5th OC in 9 years will begin immediately.  The defense is old.  Its going to be tough to make it through another season staying as healthy as they did.  I don't know how they plan to improve the offensive line, but I certainly hope they at least have a plan.  I hope Kellen Davis and Devin Hester have played their last games in a Bears uniform.

Well the Packers sure look like crap going into the playoffs, which is cool. No way Lovie is going to be back next year. I think that decision was made about 3 games ago whether the bears made the playoffs or not. Sean Payton PLEASE!!!

Now the Bears have fired their last 2 head coaches with 1 year remaining on their deal.  Historically, that is what they seem to do.

I think the Saints already locked up Payton to a new contract Tom.  $8M/year.  I'm interested to see who Emery goes with.

Yesterday morning ESPN ran this piece called "Safe or Out" where Jaworski and Hodge let everyone know which coaches were safe and which were out.  They went through about 8 coaches and didn't even include Lovie Smith becaues thats how safe they apparently thought he was.  I thought that was really odd considering the rumors in Chicago have been swirling for months now.  Apparently the East Coast is the only thing that matters on ESPN.  They talked about Rex Ryan for about 5 minutes.

Big reason why I do not listen to ESPN 1000, thier national shows at least. I have been told after the national shows are done that they are better than 670 The Score but i have not given it a chance yet.  Anyways carry on ...
Too much mustard on that tomato

It's about time. When you have 3 weapons like Marshall, Cutler, & Forte you deserved to the the axe.

Crap?  Losing on a last second field goal on the road to the team with the league MVP isn't exactly crap. They may not make the Super Bowl, but they are one of the favorites going into the play-offs.

Last two seasons:
Aaron Rodgers 84 touchdowns 14 interceptions
Jay Cutler   32 touchdowns 21 interceptions

I wouldn't count the Packers out and I would agree that Rodgers is better than Cutler. Sometimes I think I'm the last person in Chicago that likes Cutler but I'd take Rodgers in a second!

Minnesota was going to be hard to beat on Sunday. I think the whole team wanted to get AP the record and they all knew it was win or be done. I wish the Bears would have at least another game to play but they just weren't good enough this year. Looking forward to seeing what kind of coaching and player changes they make during the off season.
