It's official!
DISContinuum's Sunday Summer Singles League at Bevier is now PDGA sanctioned.
10 weeks, May 17th - July 19th.
$6 + $1 PDGA fee + $1 Club fee = $8
+ $1 Ace Pool (optional) + $1 CTP (optional)
You do not have to be a PDGA member to play, but there are benefits to PDGA membership. For example, each round gets rated. End of league ratings are formally calculated and submitted to the PDGA. You will receive PDGA points, which is the primary criterion for earning an invitation to World Championship events.
Hope to see lots of players at Bevier this summer!

Sounds fun. Looking forward to this one. Get ready for the lowest PDGA rating in history :)!

Just my $0.02 here. I noticed that right now results are posted with everyone in their "normal" division. I would recommend putting all Ams in a single division for PDGA purposes here. In general everyone should get more points that way. And since players will be looking for points for Am Worlds in Madison, that matters more than usual.

I can do that on the spreadsheet?
Awesome.  I will amend it if possible for this past week and will do that going forward.
Thanks for the tip, Mike!
The instructions on the PDGA spreadsheet can be a little confusing.

Yes, points are like gold now.

Mike -

I searched the spreadsheet.  I could not find how to override/bypass the division classification.
The pop-up only has specific choices, not just Am or Pro.
When I try to type in Am or Pro, it tells me that my entry is invalid.

The instructions say:

" This page is where the master list of your players resides and where all new players each week must be added.
Your weekly scores will automatically end up on this page which you use to upload scores each week to the PDGA
web site. More detailed instructions are listed on the right side of the UPLOAD page. Note: If you are running a single
division handicap league, you must indicate ams and pros separately each week in MA1 and MPO, respectively,
so each group will earn PDGA points in their am or pro category."

We are not doing any handicaps.

On the Upload page. Mark all pros as MPO and All Ams as MA1.

Jim,  Thanks for running this league. Good times.

Thanks for making it out, KG!
You are a perfect example of a player being able to stabilize or improve his rating using PDGA-sanctioned leagues.   ;D

Scores are posted:

THANKS to EVERYONE who showed up this past Sunday.
It was loads of fun!

Bevier played great, although the rough is starting to become unruly.
The course should be mowed thoroughly before the Crazy Beaver.
See everyone next week!

After plenty of input from players over the past few months, I have decided not to run another PDGA-sanctioned singles league this fall.

Why?
Turnout has been fairly low; also, only 2 Pros have played and that really throws off the ratings calculations.  Without more propagators with consistent scores, these ratings are not helping most people.

Also, while better players have been rewarded - and rightly so - many of the Ams have simply been donors to the cause.  I'd rather see more competition and more players get a chance to cash.  I'm glad we tried this format, but it is not what most players are looking for.  We will still play the remaining 3 weeks of the sanctioned league.

What players have voiced is that you want a random doubles league instead.  So here's what's happening:

Bevier Random-Draw Doubles League
August 2nd - ongoing indefinitely.
Bevier Park, Waukegan every week, Sundays at 10am.
Rounds of 21 holes.
We will have an Upper Pool and a Lower Pool.
$5 entry fee + $1 club fee + optional $1 Ace Fund + $1 optional CTP fund.
