2003 Widdershins Open

Thank you Jim and Shawn for a fantastic event!



I placed 4th(had tied for 3rd, lost the flip), and even though I would have like to taken first, I feel I played more solidly and smart than I have in a long long time, maybe ever. I didn't have many 2's but in 42 holes I only shot over par on 4 of them. (As usual I need to work on putting, I missed a good 8 or 9 birdies by missing 7 to 12 foot putts)



The highlight of my evening was shooting for the Ace pool ctp. Brand new G6i Demon (which along with my G9i Wizard, both acquired yesterday, are my two new favortie discs), out it went seemed to be ther perfect line. It wasn't :-( It was about two inches too low and it slammed into the side of the basket :-) But regardless I won the CTP.



On a different note, we had 4+ plus people wanting a bag tag, so we are going to order 10 or 15 more. Now we need to run another tourney to get everyone together to get them :-)

I'm going to be coming down to Bevier friday at around 4:45-5:00 to drop off some minis for Jim, if he isn't there, will anyone else be there I can give them to?  I won't be able to make it on Saturday, but I hope everyone has a blast!!!

Point well made.  But I do not think we'll get more than 50 people on Saturday.  I'm waiting for Trigg to call back about use of the field across the street. These may not be ideal holes if we do use the space, but at least we'll have another option.

Another option is shotgun start....

Jim, I don't know how this effects your options, but I had promised you the use of my basket for the Widdershins if I still owned it. I sold it Sunday, so it is not available. Sounds like you might not need it anyway.



We normally do a shotgun start (just we use a car horn or air horn). Were thinking of doing a staggered start where everyone starts on hole 1 and each group starts after the previous group ended? If you were and you were only playing 9 baskets, you could start the first 9 groups but then would have to wait until they played all the holes they were supposed to before you could start group 10. That's if they were going to play multiple tees. Either way, I don't see the staggered start saving any time.

That sucks about the events going on that day!!!  2 rounds of 19 sounds good too.  On another note, are we doing any hole sponserships?  Would be intrested in doing that for good ole DR DYE.

What time does the park close?  Sundown?  8:00?  10:00?

Yeah, no one hacked anything down when I was there.  We used the hand axes to chop at some undergrowth and existing stumps, but that was it!  I think I will be free Friday night to help, but it wouldn't be before 5:30ish, probably.  I'll stop by and see if I can help!
