I don't think it's going to happen Tom. It does suck.

Yeah, I e-mailed Gary Lewis prior to Turkey-Day through the PDGA page, but didn't get a response.

I think Brian Cummings just gave up the "slowest-reporting-TD-in-our-area" trophy!   ;D

I don't know that Gary checks email. He's more likely to pick up his phone.

I figure I should expand on this since many might not know. Steve is doing something that no one has ever done before. He is going to break Feldberg's record of sanctioned tournaments played in 1 year. Dave Feldberg played 48. I believe Steve is around 45 or 46 right now and will probably go over 50 by the end of the year. He is also going to win the PDGA points race for amateurs.

At last I heard, he had 49 under his belt.

I hope that because the scores got posted for IL State and Channahon, Steve's still in the running for breaking the record.  To date, neither event has been submitted to the PDGA, so technically they are not official.   ???
So are they going to get added? Today is the deadline. If not that would suck

Everyone who thinks that Steve's tournaments should count towards him breaking the record should call Gary today at 815-725-8964 and ask him if he can get the results in today. And tell him that you don't want to see Steve miss the record because Gary hasn't gotten the results in yet. And I'm not publishing anything that isn't already on the internet. You can get Gary's phone number yourself at http://www.pdga.com/schedule/event.php?TournID=5874 any of his tournament links on pdga.com.

Today is the deadline for the December ratings update.  Last Friday was the deadline for the December points update.  Even if they are not in today, today is not the deadline for end-of-season stats.  That is in January sometime, but then sometimes they do a special February ratings update to pick up late stuff that comes in after they drop the hammer on the TDs who never turned in their stuff.

They will process the stats whenever they get the report and the money, even if it is next June.  There may be some hell to pay, and maybe some punishing of innocent bystanders, but Slater will get the tournaments in his stats.

even if they don't get on his stats until 2008, they will still be 2006 stats...............

So Tony, Brett, is there any new news on the Illinois State Championships?

Gary has probably let this go on long enough that next year he'll have to post the performance bond.  If he lets it go on too long, he might have to find a straw man to TD his sanctioned tournaments, kind of like in 2004 when Naomi was listed as the TD for all of Brian's tournaments.

Steve Slater has been unanimously selected, by the IDGT Committee to Select the Player of the Year, as the 2006 Illinois Disc Golfer of the Year!

I've been holding off on announcing the divisional winners of the 2006 Illinois Disc Golf Tour until all the tournaments were official and the points have been checked. The late posting tournaments and my being sick for most of the winter have slowed this down.

And, of course, as mentioned earlier Steve Slater has been selected the 2006 Illinois Disc Golf Player of the Year.

I'll be getting trophies finished asap. The trophy place and I have been working out the design. We had a couple of communication errors otherwise they would have been done for this weekend to start awarding. I look forward to awarding these highly deserved honors soon! Congratulations to everyone that played in Illinois tournaments in 2006!!!

HUGE thanks to Tyler Williams for doing all the points calculations!

well i tried hard to win this, but it turned out i had zero chance to win the ADVANCED trophy because i could not play in the INTERMEDIATE division.  hopefully the rules on that will be changed if we do this again in the future.  thanks for taking the time to set the whole competition up though Jon.  I do think its a pretty cool idea.  Illinois has alot of guys that support almost every Illinois event, so its not just a competition of who plays the most events, which makes it fun.

I set it up kind of like the PDGA does points. That was a mistake. There would be a few things I would change if the disc golfers of Illinois had wanted me too. I will continue with the Illinois Disc Golfer of the Year but the tour is Brett's now.
