Its there...I assume that the person selling it didnt show a pic of it because it is not legible anymore, or at the very least it doesnt look nice and sharp.  Notice how much the dye has spread since its creation, compared to the pic shown in my gallery.  I am sure the DR DYED on the rim looks bad now considering how the top of the disc looks.  I know that the early champ beasts are some of the worst champ type plastic for dyeing, as far as holding the design is concerned.  A lot of the cloudy champ plastic seems to have the same problem, probably something in the plastic mix.

Just took another look at the auction.... man, the picture sure looks like it was taken of the underside but its not.

This stuff isn't on eBay, but congratulations Dr. Dye for having some nice work listed on Marshall Street. Take a look at Dr. Dye's products at the Marshall Street site

Thanks guys!!!  That 167g Z Flick was my favorite out of that batch.  They wanted to get a good mix of designs from simple to really complex.  I really look forward to doing more work for them in the future!!!

Until someone else figures out your design, masking and cutting process, putting "DR DYED" on those is kind of redundant!

Maybe, but everytime I pull out on of my dyed discs in my bag I see the DR DYED on the rim, I am sure this probably also happens to other people who throw DR DYED plastic.  Think of it as free advertisement for yours truly.  Also, I have seen some copycat designs out there, a few looked just like a few simple designs I did awhile back.  If you put them side by side, they were almost identical.

I just got a custom Punisher-dyed Beast from Joe on Saturday. Freakin sweet! Now all I need is some semi-decent weather to throw it in. Thanks again Joe!

Last night during the Olympics when Kelsey and Kira were watching figure skating, I was doing temporal telekinesis to make the non-USA girls fall down.  When they would fall down, we'd yell, "USA! USA! USA!"  When they did not fall down, just to be funny, I'd say dismissively, "Well, I could have done THAT!"

[tone=dismissive]I looked at the Roadrunner.  I could have done THAT![/tone]   ;D

Not.

wow, those are nice.  I don't know if someone has already asked you this before (didn't read all of the history of this thread), but how long does it take to make something like one of those?  It can't be all that easy!

Thanks guys ;D

Well, it all depends on what exactly I am dyeing.  But generally speaking, it takes me roughly 45min-1 hour for each disc.  I have been doing this for awhile now, so my methods are pretty much all very efficient.

drdye

Only about 10 hours left on these two!!!

You don't get enough for those.  The Sidewinder was awesome.  Clearly you do the work for the love.

Its funny, the custom work that I do makes the least amount of profit, on say an hourly schedule.  Thanks though, I do agree I thought that the RR(not the Sidewinder, close) would sell for more than $26, if someone where to come to me and purchase a disc from me and get that dyejob done I would charge at least $30, probably $35($15 for the disc, and $20 for the dyejob).  That was a pretty tough one to do!!!  Confusing at times, had me looking cross-eyed for a day after I was done :D

I do love doing it!!!  I have always felt that I am always breaking new ground when it comes to custom dyed discs.  I have something that no-one else has with my ability to create some pretty intricate designs and dye it onto a disc with minimal bleeds.  That excitement when I wash off a new disc with a bad ass design that tests even my limits is probably what keeps me going!!!  Also, by getting my name out there(I think I have done this pretty well ;D) it opens the door to other new opportunitys for me.  I am sure J-Bird is not going to want to do this forever, he has done this for quite some time now and he has done a great job!!!  Then after he is ready to quit dyeing discs, someone will have to get the job done O0

A couple years down the road I may even be able to quit my job and dye discs for a living, even if J-Bird dyes discs until I am dead!!!  Everyday this seems more of a possibility than a dream.  You would be surprised how many other ways I can turn this disc dyeing thing into money to live on, I am sure you already know.  I do have many new products coming to the market, some sooner than others, that will include hats, t-shirts, polos, who knows maybe bags too.  Plus a few more that I am keeping a secret until I am ready for release, one product that is brand new to the world....No one else has this product to offer, there is nothing like it and I am sure once I DR some up and sell them, the market for this product will BOOM!!!  I cannot say anymore or else I would have to kill you :o

Sidewinder, Roadrunner -- I definately should replace my broken bifocals.

I think Innova is really close to making white plastic available to anyone, maybe another year.  Jaybird only does about half the stuff that leaves his shop and half of the stuff is not that good anyway.  Discraft's relationship with Jay is personal and is likely to be more enduring.  If Innova makes white plastic a generally available item, you can dye as much as you can sell.
