2014 Best Shot Sundays!
September 7th - October 12th - Could be extended longer into autumn if attendance is good.
Sunday mornings at 10am at Bevier.
Random Draw Best Shot format.  20 holes. Upper & lower divisions.  $8 includes Ace Pool, CTP Pool, and club fund.

How do you play?
One player from the lower (less experienced) pool is randomly matched up with a player from the upper (more experienced) pool. You both throw drives and take the best one. Then you both throw an approach and take the best one. Then you both putt and take the best one.

We will be doing FUN things during this league, like:
-added at least one prize CTP each week (I KNOW someone wants that license plate holder)
-using long tees, including some temporary long tees
-turning various existing holes into island shots with drop zones; one each week

I hope to see lots of players out there for this league. Best Shot is a fun way to meet new players and learn new skills!

5 Teams:   50% / 30% / 20%  ($26 / $14 / $10)
6 Teams:   50% / 30% / 20%  ($30 / $18 / $12)
7 Teams:   50% / 30% / 20%  ($34 / $22 / $14)
8 Teams:   40% / 30% / 20% / 10% ($32 / $24 / $16 / $8)
9 Teams:   40% / 30% / 20% / 10% ($36 / $26 / $18 / $10)
10 Teams:   40% / 30% / 20% / 10% ($40 / $30 / $20 / $10)

The payout paid to the Midwest player will be full placement payout minus $5.  This is because there is no team member paying into the pot.

Rules
Best Shot Leagues are open to Pros, Advanced, Amateur and Novice players. Anyone can play! All leagues are on Sunday mornings at Bevier Park in Waukegan @ 10:00AM sharp. 
All players are asked to check in 10 minutes prior to ensure they are accounted for. 
Entry is $6.00 each week, $1 (optional) for CTP, and $1 (optional) for the ace fund. 
The club deducts $1 from each entry fee in order to cover operating expenses and end of league prizes.

How To Play Best Shot
Best Shot is a doubles game. Your partner is drawn randomly; we try to match Amateurs and Novices with Advanced and Pro players so that the field is more evenly matched. Sizes of groups at each hole vary from four to six, depending on turnout. At each hole, both players of each doubles team throws a drive. They then decide which of the two throws is better, or which leaves a better shot at the basket. After the other teams have driven, the team farthest away from the basket throws first. Both team members get to throw, and the best shot is again chosen. This continues until the hole is completed.
If there is an odd number of players, one person randomly draws the Midwest position. This means that person can throw one extra throw (Mulligan) per hole, and choose which of those two shots is better.

September 7th:  Hole 1 long tee will play as a temporary Island Hole w/drop zone.
September 14th:  Hole 5 will play as a temporary Island Hole w/drop zone.
September 21st:  Hole 20 temp long tee will play as a temporary Island Hole w/drop zone.
September 28th:  Hole 3 will play as a temporary Island Hole w/drop zone.
PLEASE NOTE:  September 28th's Best Shot will be played at Squaw Creek in Round Lake (Fairfield).
October 5th:  Hole 15 will play as a temporary Island Hole w/drop zone.
October 12th:  Hole 10 will play as a temporary Island Hole w/drop zone.

Bevier played great today!

Kid and Kenny rocked the house with a 47, setting the bar pretty high for the rest of the league.

Due to this recurring bronchitis, I will not be at leagues tomorrow (September 21st).
Daniel will also not be there because he will be working some overtime at his job.

So, y'all can play Best Shot, but unless someone wants to drive to McHenry to pick up CTP prizes and Gateway discs, it will just be a casual thing.  

I apologize for the inconvenience.  I encourage you to play either the IOS in Marengo or the Evergreen Open.

I will not be at Bevier's Best Shot league this coming Sunday. Instead, I'll be playing the Chili Challenge up in Stevens Point.

Ace Pool is at $56.
Socktober donations currently weigh in at 16 pounds. Please help us reach our goal of 50 pounds and help Lake County PADS help the homeless.

We had decent turnouts and great weather every Sunday.
Nobody hit the Ace Pool, which got up to $65, so $35 will go to the Club Fund amd $30 will be forwarded to start off Autumn Singles league!
