Myk

Hey guys, i just got my first opportunity to get online, so I thought I'd drop in and check stuff out.  Glad to see that everything is going to be good for the Streamwood starter.

My trip started out pretty rough.  Missed my flight to SF the first time.  Got out here late sunday night.  So far my brother and I have managed to play 2 courses.  First we played Chabot Park in San Leandro.  Man was that a fun course.  All sorts of elevation challenges to throw off your game.  My brother, who hasn't played DG in like 10 years kicked my butt because he took the safe routes while I tried to show off.  My only complaint about this course was that there is no signs marking where to go next.   My brother, luckily enough, knew the course because he goes down there with his dog pretty often.

The next course we played was the Berkley Aquatic Park.  GOOD GOD IS THIS A GREAT PARK!!!  The view is spectacular, and the course was very very challenging.  Elevation challenges and plenty of water hazards.  My brother lost 2 discs in the water that day.  Luckily, none were mine.  ;)  I had to let him  borrow some of mine, and he managed to lose my crush in some bushes.  Again, the only down side to this course was the lack of signage.  There were course maps available, but it was very confusing trying to find tee pads and corresponding holes.  We had a great time once we figured everything out though.

Today we're looking at playing the Golden Gate Park course, which is only 12 holes.  I had thought it was 18, but it should still be fun as hell.  I forgot the camera for the first two courses, so hopefully I'll remember this time so I can bring back some great pictures.  Tomorrow we're going to hit the Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa.  18 disccatchers, most under 300ft, are just beggin for an ace.  I can feel it!

If I don't get another chance to write, I'll post my reviews of the courses when I get home.  Have fun, and give Jojo tag #1 so I can whoop him when I get home and hold onto it for a while.  ;)

Hey - I know tapers out in SF, friends of KTKOF... Want me to have them get in touch? Disc golfers too....
Don't forget your towel!

Oh - how did you miss your flight? Didn't get to midway in time or did you get lost on the way?

Good luck finding flat ground to throw from there... :P

Napa's cool, but I liked Stafford Lake in Novato better. Hope you get a chance to get down to DeLaveaga in Santa Cruz, that's probably the best course I've ever played. (and it's in real danger of being pulled   )

In any event, have fun!
thanks,

The golf was great out in Cali.  I never got a call from that girl Mirth, but I did manage to get my brother hooked on the game.

Over the last few days we played DeLaveaga twice, thanks for the tip Damon.  We had a complete blast.  Can't wait to go back in a few years.
