Why is it that Park Districts that devote huge capital in Ball Golf Courses Maintainance Design Labor ETC. Not be mandated to provide similiar or adequate Disc Golf Practice Facilities at least.

Practice facilities are an excellent option for Districts that do not have resources or vision.

When will the PDGA make Park Districts Aware of this situation. The PDGA is failing in its effort to promote the game to any and all Park Districts across the country and floundering in taking the sport to new levels.

"The use of drugs is a perverse expression of individualism, antisocial and life-denying,It isn't an assertion of individuality; it's a substitute for it. It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

The PDGA is just a few volunteers at the top (and two full-time staff at HQ who process all the paperwork and make all the tournament stuff work at that level) and then the rest of us volunteers across the country and to some extent the world.

But we are making progress. Round Lake was about to write off disc golf until some of us stepped up and showed them that people do care about this sport. Our good relationship with Waukegan has led to other opportunities. When park districts see how well disc golf is received at their parks they tell other park districts. If we keep working to make a difference where we can it will continue to build.

I think the key to getting Park Districts more active in maintaining disc golf courses is to make them realize the number of people that use the courses.  I don't think the Round Lake PD really understands how heavily used Fairfield is.

Round Lake knows now. The expanded parking lot is proof they know something about the use of the park. Other than a couple of dog walkers, disc golfers are the only people that use that park.
