It is pretty easy to steal a keyboard from a public library.  Every time I've poured pop or orange juice on a keyboard, that keyboard was done for.

Could try a few things..

-Take the keyboard apart, isolate the "E"  key and and clean it, inside and underneath
-Pry the "E" key off and clean it
-Be a sinner like Bruce
-Buy a new one for $10?

I'm not suggesting that anyone should steal a keyboard from a public library.  That is NOT where I steal my keyboards from.  I was merely suggesting things he could do besides BUYING a keyboard.

You could make a sign on brown corrugated cardboard and stand at a busy street corner, "Will beg for a keyboard."

Well, other than trying to clean the affected key there's not much you can do.

You *could* try running they kbd under water & then use compressed air to blow out any water, then let the keyboard sit for 48-ish hours before trying to use. Note, this could very well ruin your keyboard.

Or, you could just mash you e key thousands of time & the dried pop will eventually wear out and break down.

Or, as D-Train pointed out, you could always buy a new keyboard for cheap:

Most newer ones are. Provided Dan's computer is newer than 1998 it should be compatible. If not, I probably have an adapter for it.
