I would not reccomend traveling to play this course. The course directory says there are 2 holes over 300 & 2 holes over 400 but I must have missed those  . This is a Roc & Putter course for the most part. The tee pads are ultra small & there are no tee signs. Almost all the holes were carved thru trees. It was a pretty park & they are doing some work. It looks like they are getting ready to plant grass on several holes.

The land developer and the designing architucte designed it.  From what I remember I had to throw a ton of tomahawks.  They were talking about redoing the holes, I don't know if they did.  I heard this last fall.

for those that have not been to rockton lately they have put some sod down.  from what i hear the park is really starting to shape up, people are maintaining it and more people are playing it in return.  there has been a small group of rockford guys that have been playing it every saturday afternoon and we are talking about making a club out of it.  for any intrested in playing there, we will be there every saturday and probally a tuesday and thursday of this week.

disregard my last post on this course.  although some of the shots are very technical alot are simply a 150 foot hyzer shot which wouldn't be so bad if there weren't dirt and rock everywhere.  if alot of people were to flood that course i garuntee there would be an accident.  ahh well, its got potential and i think the coordinator, tim miller, will put some time and effort into shaping it up.  from what i've been told its already come along way....

rockford's artic blast doubles tournament is coming up in early february, its the saturday after the superbowl.  ill get a post up as the info gets solidified.

I dig this course.  Short yes, Tight yes , Good excuse/opportunity to practice.  Evil when they don't mow the 2' straw-grass.  Double doglegs are tough when they are under 170'!

duain

played this course today after anna page, its not a mudd pit its quite beatiful now alot of thumber shots most holes are short but have alot of trees and brush in the way. its like prairie golf or something. if your in the area and want a nice nature walk and want to throw a few thumbers then check tis park out otherwise go to anna page. had to see for myself

In the area so stopped back today after playing in October 2004. The course is very playable and not the mud pit it used to be. They have added some blue tees which are marked by blue stones. There is some very thick rough out there. I'm not a big fan of the design.
