:o WOW ... there were too many quotes to use ... I can't find just one good one!

I am a former pot smoker, and lost my mother to the ill effects of what happens when you smoke cigarettes for years and years.  I could get on a soapbox on that topic.  As to legalize ... hmm tough call.  The best quote I read ...  "if this is the only reason u play disc golf then quit playing disc golf and just find some buddies to go smoke weed in the woods with you."  I play disc golf for the game .. to me that's my high, and I can say I know the difference between the two highs.

I have been in tournaments and have been asked if I mind or even want to join in.  I walk away from the pack when they do ... My biggest fear is the "guilt by association".  I don't want to get busted because I was around someone smoking pot and have to worry about sorting it all out later.  What I see mostly, and this involves alcohol as well as pot, is little kids, 12-16, out there with cigarettes, beer, pot.  They are out there because it's become a good way to hide from mommy and daddy because the courses are in wooded areas etc.  I played one course that even nicknamed a hole ."The Bowl Hole".  Sheesh!

It's illegal ... period!  If they want to do it ... do it behind closed doors, not in a park that the public can see them in.

Ok, Here goes!

I didnt smoke until I got out of the Marine Corps.  Sounds Funny, I was 23 the first time I smoked, I had to know why so many people were getting booted out for smoking, what was so great about it?

NOT A DAMN THING - I can get just as buzzed by drinking beer.  Now - I am not saying that I dont smoke every once in a great while.  What happens at Camp stays at Camp :)

I do not see a need for it on the course.  There is no reason what so ever.  Public course + Illegal activity = Negative outlook towards sport.  I don't think it can be summed up any different.

If you decide to run an Alternative Tour, where you advertise that the Disc Golf is secondary to the partying - by all means go ahead - I more than likely will not play - because I believe that these two activities should remain seperate.

Until it becomes legal...

Which will never happen because the Gov't will never figure a way to regulate it to make it profitable for them.

just to reiterate the original point of my post.  i'm not on a quest to stop drug use on the disc golf course right now.  i don't care if your smoking in the woods or praying in the woods, i just don't want it to hold me up while i'm trying to play a round.  if u can do it and keep the flow of the game then go for it!

i often find the need to rip one off in the woods during a bad round, but i've never let this hold up the group.  i'm on the tee with a sticky disc in my hands when its my turn  :D
