7 in a row baby!  hell yeah!  don't worry though, once Joe Borowski comes back our offense will be sooo much better.  Dubois, Hollandsworth, Perez, Macias, Patterson, and Hairston are all real quality major league hitters.  They just need their Jobo back.  Seriously cust, you are an embarrassment of a baseball fan.  please root for the white sox.

Haah.  Frist off i woudlnt root for the sox's if someone had a gun to my head.  2nd, how many leads has Hawkins blown, alot.  My main point was if you are a true Cubs fan, you will cheer for the team win or lose.  But, your not, you just give up on them when they are going through hard times.  I bet you started watching the bulls 1/2 way through this season too.  You prolly quit watchign them when Jorden left, and now that they are winning again you prolly start watching them again.
"i quit. the cubs suck and i hate those frickin bastards "  you might as well just kill yourself Dan, it will save us all some trouble.

Dan Michler

cubs win! all we have to do is leave the starter in for 9 i guess.

if i had a dollar for every time i've said i hate the cubs over the last 15 years i would open my own disc golf ranch.  i suppose it would make me a fair weather fan if it weren't for the fact that i still watch them every day even when they are 20 games out in september.  i doubt u can question my loyalty to the cubbies kust, you MF.

Hey, at least you got my name right this time you stupid ignorant "you fill in the blank"(for the sake of our younger viewers).
Quotei doubt u can question my loyalty to the cubbies
i just question what i have read fromy ou directly
Quotei quit. the cubs suck and i hate those frickin bastards so much that i would rather die than watch another game.
Doesn't sound like something a true fan would say.  Also

If you have said it that many times, you must be the biggest die hard cubs fan out there.

This is coming from  a Sox fan- fair warn ing.

Any dire hard fan is going to get pissed off at his team once in a while.  Brooklyn Dodger fans called their team the Bums, and they often were.  Sometimes you love something but just get steamed.  Ever get pissed off at your kids, ever yell at them, ever say something you regeretted?  You still love them.  Further, there is an element of dire hard fans that feels its their duty to be critical of management for the betterment of the team.  The Tribune is spending money on the team.  That's good.  For a long time, management did not spend money on the Cubs.  knowledgable fans refused to go to the park  during this era.  Management felt they could mnake money off a lousy team because of the aura of Wrigley.  The boycotters were no less true fans.

Have you ever thrown a disc into the woods and uttered, "I hate this fricken game etc"  After two pretty dramatically frustrating losses it appears that Dan just let off some steam.  His blind devotion appears to have returned and I am sure that the next warning track fly ball will bring out oohs and aahs.   Even when those "fricken" Cubs broke his heart he still had the same lame avatar.  True fans will support the team and each otherr.  Keep telling each other that the Cubs will wind up with a better record than the Sox   or will beat St. Louis or whatever.  It sure beats cursing a fellow fan.

I knew as soon as I came back into the bedroom last night and saw Hawkins in that the game was lost. A few seconds later he gave up the homer.....
Don't forget your towel!

that was a smart move bringing in hawkins.  thank god dusty is our manager.  also really smart move starting Leister who had an 0-2 record with a 5.40 in the minors as a starter.  who would have thought he'd get hit so hard?

alright yo,  maddux and prior are coming around, zambrano is great, and latroy isn't the closer any more.  maybe if we can hang around til July, we can trade for a left fielder who can hit and make a run for the wild card.  i gotta stay optimistic til at least july  B)

Last time I looked tonight, Cubs were up 6-0 and Maddux was still in at the 7th. Figured Hawkins would come in and give up a 7-run homer....  :P
thanks,

10 bucks says zambrano get thrown out of a game
before he has another complete game this year

Dear Dusty
way to extend your starters because of lack of pen
136 pitches  thats a lot
I think you may have ruptured something in your brain with all those toothpics you have  been chewing

Thanks and good luck keeping your job when Hendry is to blame.

7th inning.  Prior pitches well, 2 runs, 2 hits.  He is lifted for a pinch hitter.  slim one run lead, Now it goes to the bullpen.  What will happen? Should be interesting.  Makes me feel better about Shingo. ;)

...9th inning.  I hate to say I told you so.  3-3.  Dempster blows the lead.

...meanwhile in Tampa Bay its business as usual, Politte, Marte and Hermanson pitch 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relif of El Duque to get the Sox back on track.

But wait fans, there's hope, bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, one out, the fans are on their feet and...D'oh! its a double play.  Hope the bullpen can hold 'em in the 10th? Lets see...

Dan Michler

i'll tell u whats gonna happen sox boy.  D LEE hits a walk off and everybody goes home happy!  2 in a row, thats a start   :)

I'll take that Zambrano bet Spuds.  10 bucks.

indeed it is a long season spuds.  come september you'll be trying to remember how good it felt it may when the sox had the best record.  then you played the cubs in the May cubs-sox series and it all went downhill.
