I have played alot of courses in Illinois and I think that Sinnissippi has the coolest course.  They have 3 pin placement, alot of elevation change, and some really cool holes.  Number 5 is an island hole which is really cool.  Also, it is kind of like playing 2 different courses, the front 8 holes have lots of elevation change and tight fairways and the last 10 are more wide open for a grip and rip type round.

i would agree that sinnissippi is definitely the best course in northern illinois and one of the most fun courses in the country.  this is why the Sinnissippi Open has been a well attended event now going into its 27th year.  everybody should go play it on the weekend of July 16/17 if they have a chance and they like disc golf at all.

#5 is one of the coolest holes you'll play.

This is my homefield course.  I was raised in Sterling from before I could walk.  I won the Jr. division here at 13 and my best friend beat me when I was 14 so I took second that year.  I love this course and to this day is still my favorite.  I never realized how good I had it until I started playing other courses.  I really enjoy the holes they add at tourney time as well.  Plus my only ace is on hole 3 there.  Its a sweet hole down a huge hole to a basket by a big creek.  I still play this course whenever I go to visit my parents.

This is the best course that I've played to-date.  Dan's right:  #5 is one of the best holes you'll play in Northern Illinois.  It's worth the drive to Sterling.

Any talk of adding this course to the IOS?

It's a bit far to go. Maybe if someone local could host the TD crew and help on the local side we would consider adding it.

If this event gets added you can count on me to help out.  I can stay at my parents that weekend and work and play.

played here today, 1st time in a few months, they added a fourth pin location for holes 1, 3, & 5. hole one is down by the bike path closer to the water. hole three is all the way down the big hill and back by the creek and new bridge going to the hiking trails. hole five is on the edge of the little cliff before the creek and little island. there is also a nice new sturdy bridge going across the creek on five to play the island shots. i do believe the baskets are rotated every third weekend to other pin locations to keep the game fresh. i always love to see a beautiful park improve. cudos to jetman and fritz for the hard work.
