i got a call a couple days ago from some kid who said "i've got your pink champion orc b$%ch!, you can call me Fred!"  I haven't lost any Orcs in a while and have about 20 backups, so you can go ahead and keep the disc Fred.  You probably need it alot more than me.

Back in the day, I used to put my name and # on my discs. But that was long ago enough that if I lost a disc, there were only 3 other guys that played the course, and we all knew each other. You could go golfing , in the middle of the summer on a Saturday at noon, and be the only one on the course the entire round.
Nowadays, I do not even bother. My PDGA # are all I put on my discs. Most people don't call back these days, and if I care about the disc enough, I will look for it till I find it. It also helps having the Esquivel crew around as well. One of those guys are bound to find it eventually.

However I would add that I havee gotten very few of t he discs that I have lost over the 15 years I have been playing back.

Putting contact info is basically just hoping that someone will be a good person & return it.
Most PDGA members will at least try to return them, non-PDGA members: not-so-much

I think every disc but one that I've called on said "keep it". Makes you wonder why they bothered.

Last Thursday I left a Z Wasp at Adler. I got a call about 2 hours later and got the disc back. He got a free disc & free lesson out of the deal. I've received several calls now and have gotten several returned.

This was back when I was selling my Am winnings to keep playing tournaments. I had a Champ Beast with a dancing bear dye. I threw it a few times but it was in great shape. I wrote my name on it. I sold it for $10 at Fairfield. I got a call and it was returned. I sold it again for $10.

Chances are by the time you've found it the disc has probably been played "lost" for a while and the guy who lost it has moved on to another disc. Probably if you found it the day the guy lost it he would probably want it back since he likely would not have replaced it (psychologically and physically) yet.

I Put name number PDGA number on them.  Put any specialties like aces on the front.  I have had one returned and had one guy call say I found your disk at this park at this hole you want it back.  when I said sure he is like too bad you are not getting it back and hung up.

Also I know a guy who goes swamping in Michigan and when he finds one with a number scribbles out the name and writes if you want a good BJ call and he leaves the number.

I just had another one returned to me this morning.  I guess there are still some good honest disc golfers out there like myself.
