Yes.  A caddy has to follow all the rules that a player does.

If anyone has extra room in their vehicle, I'm looking for someone to take some product down.  I am thinking about vending at the flymart that night but I don't have much space in the ride Im taking (with other WI people).  So what might be in it for you ... well, depending on how much room you can help with, I might be able to cover an entry fee or give float some merch YOUR way.

So if anyone has lots of extra room, let me know.

Thanks,

Ter

PS - This product would be legit product and nothing that would get you in trouble with the law.  I'd like to bring some of my custom shirts down along with other odds and ends.  I really don't anticipate bringing too many discs but I would like to bring lots of other stuff.

where do you go to see who's registered? I looked on the BGAMC website but no link (that I could see) and I went to titledisc.com and it only sent me to the register page (I've already registered). Is there another website that has this information?

That's a long @$$ drive, but I might consider it, since it is one of the best am events of the year and can basically qualify you for Worlds.

Dan,

Are you interested in carpooling?  Not 100% sure if I'm going, but seriously considering it.

Dan Michler

Thanks for the offer Doug.  I would defnitely do it, but I already set up plans with some friends who live farther west.  Our car is full or I'd get you in.  Let me check what other people I know who are going and I'll see if I can work out something where we can all head down together.

If you can go I would definitely suggest doing it.  Its gonna be over 500 ams and should be alot of fun.

The Bowling Green Am Champs is huge, and it is a one-stop opportunity to qualify for the following year's Am Worlds.  If I had an Am 2 rating and wanted to go to Worlds, I'd definately go to Bowling Green and play Am 2.  900 disc golf will get you 850 points in intermediate and about 500 in advanced.

This year an Illinois amateur needed 1200 points to qualify for Tulsa Am Worlds.  900 golf in Intermediate at an Illinois Open will get you 125 points, maybe more, depending on attendance, and you can get 75 more by shooting the same in Advanced.  So playing the Bowling Green Open gives you 4X the points for about the same price, not counting gas and lodging.

Besides being huge it is nothing special.  In the upper pool you will play two good technical courses, but one of them is kind of tight with the course routing.  The other two courses are about as interesting as Edgebrook, but without the carts or the manicured fairways.  If you think about things that make a tournament special, they aren't there: Lunch? No. Field games? No. Pro Clinics? No. Because of the size of the field they have to do stacks o' plastic for payouts.

I'm probably going.  I'm going to nail that down this weekend.  The one-stop qualifying for Am Worlds is very attractive.

Thanks Dan.  You going with the J-Town boys?

Bruce Brakel

I think they do large player packs and light payouts.  But when there are 300 players in your division and you place well, a light payout seems like more.  I'm pretty sure they will use the current flatter, deeper charts.  Unfortunately, the PDGA does not publish am payouts so we can't just go look.

what got me wondering was that in the 50 richest tournaments of 2005 segment, pg 39, of the newest issue of Disc Golf World News they were not listed.  for having 400 plus players i thought there would be some mention for sure.

They are basing richest on gross pro purse, I'm pretty sure.  DGW would ot have access to amateur information.

Bowling Green is advertising awesome player packs.  I would set my expectations on a good player pack, a well run tournament, a huge field, and a chance to meet players from all over the country.  If you are an intermediate and you play to your ability in the intermediate division you will get a great start on a Milwaukee Worlds invitation.

Oh, this is cool:  the Advanced divisions will be playing Bell South pro configurations at Keriakas and jogging track o.b.s at White.  The tournament just got a little cooler.

Pretty sure I'll be playing this one.  ADV for sure if I play, just because I've already played those courses a few times.  No chance of placing in the cash, but it'll be a good time for sure.

Mike,

Let me know if you are going to go. I'm not 100%, myself, but if we both decide to go, maybe we can carpool......Dan's already dissed me..... ;D

I just registered.  Now I just need to figure out a way to get out of work that friday.  No vacation days yet.  >:(  I'm driving down to Champaign and meeting up with 2 guys, and we're going together.  Check-in is from 6-9 on friday so we are gonna have to leave Champaign by noon, probably.

if u can't get off work, i wouldn't worry too much.  if u are pre reg'd and call the TD to say you can't make the friday night check in I imagine you'll be okay.  i haven't played BG, but i've played alot of others and i'm sure you wouldn't be the only one to miss the check in.  just make sure you get your hole/course assignment in plenty of time!

man, this sounds really cool.  no license, so it'll be hard to get there, but i'm gonna try.  got lucky, no school that friday so i'd be able to make it.  it says first 400 pre-register get a really good player pack.  does anybody know how long it'll be for that four hundred to fill up?  if i go, i'd like to get in there.

thanks
