Southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois advanced players wanting to earn an invitation to Worlds this year might not be seeing a lot of A-tiers close by this year.  So I thought I'd start looking for the Secret A Tiers.  These are opportunities for you to get A-tier equivalent points by playing two tournaments on the same weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday with a reasonable drive in between.  It beats driving to Columbus, Ohio!

April 22 and 23
The Kenosha House of Fondu
Saturday -- IOS #1 at Kenosha, a B-tier
Sunday -- The Fond Du Lac Open, a C-tier

Fond du Lac is only 100 miles or so north of Kenosha.

As more tournaments get on the schedule I'll post more.

It only took us 2.5 hours to drive from Waukegan to Kaukauna last year, and Fon du Lac might be a little closer, even though it is further west.
The Pin High Tour seems to have lower entry fees than most WI events, and Ken Kreie runs good tournaments.

FDL is about 90 minutes North of Kenosha. I used to date a girl who lived there... Pretty much a straight shot up 94 -> 894 -> 43.
Don't forget your towel!

There's a tourney in Eau Claire, WI on 5/6 and then a tourney next day in Menomonie (40 mins by google maps)

Again if you do not want to drive 5+ hours to play Wakanda/Tower Ridge, there is a C Tier in Saukville which is about 30 minutes north of Milwaukee on May 6th.

Yah, you could save drive time & play the C-tier, but Bruce was looking at weekends with 2 tourneys so AMs can get the same points as if they played an A-tier event. Google was stating 6 1/2 hours to Burlington, KY, vs. 5 to Eau Claire/Menomonie. Disc 'n Dat Open is the only A-tier listed on PDGA.com for that weekend. What's website for the Saukville tourney? It's not listed on PDGA.com.

There is also the April 8-9 weekend in Wisconsin. Menasha Open 4/8, New London Open 4/9. Google maps says it's 45 minutes in between the 2 towns.

From me in Downers Grove google says it's a 3 hour 40 minute drive, probably about 1 hour less for you "Northern Chicagoland" disc addicts.

The Aurora-Chanahon thing would be cool, especially since Gary is talking about sanctioning lower divisions at Chanahon.  But Gary thinks both tournaments would do better on different weekends, so we are trying to accomodate him by moving Aurora.  Stay tuned on the Aurora date.  We will try to nail that down ASAP.

Anyone going to play Menasha & New London (4/8 & 9) vs. the River Cities Rumble on 4/9?
