Anhyzer Discs

So I was looking at my spreadsheet for some discs that I could get to pull to the left for me (I'm lefty) and I found the Stingray and Jaguar.  I'm probably going for the Stingray, but maybe the Jaguar as well.  Has anyone thrown one?

Throwing an anhyzer is more about technique than the stability of the disc.  When you throw anhyzers with understable discs they tend to catch an edge and roll.  

You could also learn to throw righthanded.  I noticed reading the Worlds round-up in DGWN that a lot of this year's Worlds champs throw with both hands.  It took me about a year to get usefully good with my off hand.  If you think you will be playing this game for two more years, take a year to learn to use your other arm.

Yeah , I am starting to figure that out.  I have been throwing a stratus anhyzer and burning it.  I have to trust that it will actually play -1 and throw it straight.  Or, I can throw a stable disc such as an element or roc and annie it.

If you throw something straight and it turns one way or the other that is not a hyzer or an anhyzer. It is what I used to refer to as fade but the current word in vogue is turn. Hyzer and Anhyzer are the angles of release. Some people can release on a hyzer (RH BH) and it will flip up and turn to the right before it gets stable and turns to the left. One way to throw a double curve is to release an overstable disc on a hyzer and let it turn back to the left once it gets stable (again for a RH BH shot).

Having a shot that will predictably turn from left to right when releasing flat is a good shot to have. Throwing an anhyzer is also a good shot to have. But they are two different skills.

just look for a spike hyzer route over the top.  anhyzers are too hard.

For me, the Stingray holds an annie well and a roadrunner or xpress turn pretty well for me with a little snap.

I've had good luck using the Breeze as my Anhyzer disc.  It will stay on a good right turn and glide to it's finish without getting stable.  The Stratus is a good turnover disc, but it's just that ... turnover ... too much snap and it's RIGHT big time, and when it hits the ground it rolls.  For a driver I use a beat up lightweight XL.  At Channahon, hole 17 I use an X-Press, it will follow the anhyzer snap and then stable out just before it's finish.

I also agree with Bruce,  it is a technique .. a feel.

I agree with Dan just look for the spike shot, fairfield style.
