I moved to Wrigleyville a couple months ago, and havent been playing much because I work too much and the weather sucks.  In the last couple months Ive only played a couple rounds...  But I'm starting up again.  Yesterday I made the drive out to Mokena to play in a blizzard.  I think Lombard is probably the closest decent course to the city, but making the trip down to the Joliet area is only like an extra 15-20 minutes or so and those courses are much better IMO.  Who lives downtown, and where do you normally go to play a round?  I dont know where I'm gonna go this summer, other than the tuesday leagues at Streamwood (not too far from work).

if you work closer to streamwood, it would seem smart for you to just play after work everyday at either streamwood or lombard.  living in the city....not good for disc golf.

Yea, I work in Des Plaines so if I can get out of work at a reasonable hour I can make it to Lombard or Streamwood and have enough light to play a round during the summer.  Doesnt look like I'll be getting off work at a reasonable hour any time soon, though.  Definitely not early enough to play a round after work until daylight starts lasting past 7:30 or so.

If you are limited in time i'd find an open park & throw as many shots with drivers, mid range, & putters. Get a light weight portbable & putt at home under light.

I figure I'll be hauling my skillshot to a few parks nearby on the weekends, if I dont feel like killing a whole afternoon driving down to Joliet.  I had it out at Wicker Park once this fall, and a small gallery of people gathered to see what the hell was going on.  Definitely a foreign sport to people in the city.

If you want a course that has a LOT of tree obstacles (for some people this course might be easy, but it's certainly not easy for me), there's a new 9-hole course in Oak Brook.  I work just on the other side of an open field from it.  We play Lombard all the time (I was there yesterday), and Oak Brook has many more trees.  The tee poles are in place, but they have not finished marking all of the holes yet.  It's supposed to have an "official" opening this spring.  It's at the Oak Brook Park District off of Jorie Rd in Oak Brook.

Nope, the Oak Brook course that I talk about is a new course.  Westchester is a much easier 9-hole course at Mayfair Park.

Here's a map that will take you from the Westchester course to the Oak Brook course (just follow that road West where the map direction end and go into the park).

Here's a map of the Central Park area in Oak Brook:

Just park near the sand volleyball area (you don't have to park in that loop though... the map dimensions aren't great).  Hole 1 starts just to the East side of those volleyball courts.  You'll also see the basket for hole 9 near there too.  The on-course maps should help you the rest of the way.

Enjoy the course!
