When I was talking to him he said he might be limiting it to 4 per hole, 72 total

Yes, he'd prefer 72 but will allow 90 if that many show. Anyways, i'd preregister to play it safe.

Anyone else going to be up there practicing on the 17th & want to throw a few rounds?

I just sent my registration in & will be making a hotel reservation, so I'm committed.

Yo yo yo guys!

The turnout has been pretty cool thus far.  We are looking at as many pre-registered players today as we had for the whole event last year.  Glad to see people are securing their spot.  At this rate we will have to go from 72 to 90 but we won't have room for more than that.  I have generic 18 hole scorecards so that means 90 is the max.  You still have a few days to MAIL in registrations or pay the few extra bucks and do it online and be done with it.  www.takeflighttoday.com for online registration:)

* I will have just about every single latest disc on the market at this event.  Recently I received Star Valks and Aviars and a fresh stack of Star Wraiths along with DX Wraiths.  I have a few Discraft Surge left along with the GT Buzzz and the X and Z Avengers.

Did I mention that I have CE Rocs?  I have hmm, enough of them but I will only accept cash.  I am in NO HURRY to get rid of them but if you want one - I'm sure we can work something out.

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

PDGA now shows 91.  Will there be one sixsome or will there be an extra hole?

Lowest rated male on the course.  Nowhere to go but up. ;D ;D

I'm waiting on a few registrations that are coming in the mail tomorrow so I shut off the online registration.  I am planning to have 2 holes extra to make for 100 people.  I wish I could add more but I just dont' see it happening.

Phew! My pre-reg must've just gotten to Terry today.

Chainmeister, if you go up there on the 14th how about a course status report?

For anybody who has been playing winter disc golf, Saturday looks to be a nice day if you dress appropriately.  Per Weather.com:

Wind: E 8 mph
Max. Humidity: 58%

Tomorrow will be near 40 but pretty windy.  I hope to get there but will have to see about conditions.

You are exactly correct - it was one of 12 that I received today in the mail.

I slogged through 18 holes of muck today in Janesville.  I like the course.  It is not too long.  However, with the conditions you really can't do much of a run up so it will play long this weekend. It would be fun to play in the summer when its dry..  There are a lot of wooded holes that give you a reasonable path to the pin.

There are concretes on the first nine.  The concrete is not that big.  I would normally start a couple feet behind these.  KVN would start about a mile behind them.  The concretes are an island surrounded by mud.  You really have to start on the concrete or you will wind up doing a face plant on the concrete.   I was practicing a three step runup today.  I have never used one before but will try it this weekend.  The baskets on some holes are also surrounded by muck.  The back nine has no concrete but there isn't as much mud on the back nine.  However, I almost killed myself sliding down the hill on I think 11 or 12.

The fairways are not as bad as the areas around the tees and baskets.  The whole park isn't slop, just the tees and pins.  There are some nice elevation changes in the park and lots of nice old trees  Its not very well marked.  Many of the poles that list the distance are down.  Not sure if they wre victems of the wind or if they have been down for a while.

It will be good to feel like a kid and play in the mud this weekend. :P

104 players its looking like its going to be a long day in the mud

discglfr

It will be a day in the mud but hopefully it shouldn't too LONG.  The course is relatively easy so hopefully we don't have any major problems or backups.

The FREE pizza at lunch should help ease some bellies!  I do apologize to anyone that registered good and early - I didn't mean for registration to get out of hand like it did.  Crazy part is, I turned away nearly 20 people thus far!  I know the extra 15 that are in are JUMPING FOR JOY and hopefully their joy will outweigh anyone's sadness of having more players and more holes to play.

Tom - thanks for registering early - you were one of the guys that did and I appreciate that!

tjdub42

Thanks for the course update.  I think #12 is the one with the hill just past the tee.  Was there snow at the top of that hill?  Any other snow on the ground up there?

It might get cold enough for the mud to freeze by this weekend.  Never thought I would hope for cold weather for a tournament.  Free pizza at the break should make up for that.

Most of the poles were down when I checked the course out on the fifth.  Hopefully, Terry will have some distances for us on Saturday.

Not a complaint just amazed at the pre-reg players.Hope nobody is planning to register sat morning.

It doesn't look like mud will be a problem Saturday. A nice 6 inch base of snow will be covering it.  :fglob:
