you would be surprised how fast those brush mowers work and the ease with which you can maneuver them.

We actually used one back in 2008 at this location, and after an entire day, we only managed to cut a single path around the property.  Doing it in late winter or early spring will hopefully help us out though.

At the moment I'm pretty disappointed with the Village of Gilberts because they haven't responded at all to whether or not they will reimburse expenses and if so what budget we'd have.  If I knew they'd kick in at least a couple hundred, I would rent a bobcat with a brush hog.  But I'm guessing that isn't going to happen.

So, weather permitting, I am currently trying to get together a group to head over and do some rough clearing of the course on March 6th starting at 9 am.  I'm just talking chain saw type clearing.  Well that and I still need to lay out the last two holes (three if we decide to go with a 10 hole course).

Three of us managed to rough (very rough) clear to more holes.  Now holes one, eight and nine are recognizable.  But hey, progress is progress right?
