I know we have many club members that do very good artwork I figured i'd pass this on. You only have a few days to work on this if you do it.

For those of you with a creative side, we are having a contest to help us develop the art for our newest disc the "Inferno".
The winner will be rewrded with 25 of the new disc as well as any 25 other Gateway or Gateway-Quest discs.
( a $500.00 plus value)

We are wide open to any and all ideas.
We have a few people working on this already, so get going!! We want to have something by Thursday so we can use it in the next DGWN issue.

The art can either be a guy flying that is ripped with muscles and on fire,
A disc flying that is on fire,
Or a cool text of the word on fire.

A lot of times the art is a colaboration from a few different people, so if we combine your art with someone elses, we will make sure to give each person at least a box of 25!

Thanks in advance and good luck.

Please send the art to david@gdstour.com
an adobe illustrator file is best, but we can work with just about anything done on a computer.
If someone wants to fax me a copy of something hand drawn, please call or email me and I'll give you the fax number!
The contest will go on until we have the art we like!

are they looking for a hotstamp type of design or something like a supercolor-like disc?  That can completely change the type of desired drawing...

.... and I just reread it again, looks like they want to use it in an ad.  NOW that makes more sense.  Although it would be cool to come up with the hot stamp idea for the disc!

It is wanted for a hotstamp.  So there is a possibility that you're artwork could appear on the Inferno.  It is wanted earlier so we could include the disc, along with a mocked up hotstamp on it, for the ad.

Thanks for the clarification!  I do some graphical work and my brother does as well, but not sure if either of us would be able to prepare something in time.  Hopefully some others here can help out too!

We can't wait to see any and all designs sent in.

The Inferno is not a putter, it is a high speed, long distance driver, made to compete with the Wraith and Quarter-K

Speaking of artwork, next year I'd really like to do a SuperColor disc as part of a Series Overalls financing thing.

The idea is that to be eligible for Series Overalls you'd have to buy a SuperColor disc for cash and the profits from the sale of the SuperColor discs would be applied to Series Overalls.  Somewhere else I'll explain the money and prizes end of this.  Here I just want to mention the art end.

Jon and I have two ideas for a SuperColor disc which we will attempt to produce.  If anyone else has an idea, we'd be happy to make a fair contest out of it.  I'd be fine with our ideas losing to something better.  SuperColor is the process that covers 100% of the disc.  SuperColor artwork should be big, bold, and detailed.  It is reproduced digitally so it also has to be high res.  It is important that whatever you do sells the disc and sells the series.  "IOS 2007" and "www.brasscash.com" should find their way into your design.

Usually I reward disc artists with some free discs with their art on it if they do something cool that sells a disc and they are not otherwise being rewarded for their efforts in promoting the series.

Even if the collective nixes the idea of doing enhanced Series Overalls awards, I'll still want to do a SuperColor series disc.  I have two good art concepts that I think will sell discs so I should go for it.
