I would assume that it would be 0 since darkness is just the absence of light.  It could also possibly be considered the same speed as the speed of light.  Example: You turn on a lightbulb - the speed at which you see the light is the speed at which the light goes from the source to your eye, which is the constant "c".  You turn off the lightbulb, and the darkness comes out as fast as the last instant of light ceases to eminate from the lightbulb until the point it reaches your eye.  I'd lean more towards the 0 factor though because everything is dark and therefore does not have to move to remain darkness.  The light just replaces the dark until the light goes away.

Sounds confusing doesn't it :)

1.) a novel by Elizabeth Moon

2.) Actually, the speed of dark is faster than the speed of light.  Go stand outside on a clear night and look at the sky.  After a while, you will see stars that you did not see when you first looked up.  Why?  Because the dark got to your eyes first!  The light from the stars needed some time to catch up!

These things are so simple if you just take the time to think about them.

Darkness has no speed.  It is an imaginary number that relates to the speed at which your eye no longer recognizes a light source that has been extinguished.
