3. Feldberg
4. Jenkins
5. Martin
6. Schwebby
7. Doss
8. Anthon

Looks like Sleepy is teeing off early this morning. Too bad IL is not represented this year. I will promise someone from IL will be at the USDGC in 07.

What happened with this year's IL exemption?

I looked a the online scoring early this morning and they had some dummy data in there. I was trying to figure out how anyone could have gotten a 2 on hole 5 (1053 ft). Now that they have real scores up there, I see a lot of bogeys on that hole. Watching the scores is fun, but I really wish I could be there watching it in person.

Kris Hutter won the exemption and did not attend. I am going to send in the entry fee next year to save the spot. I will follow up to make sure whomever wins teh exemption goes. If not maybe i'll go again ;D.

Scoring is back up. Hole 5 is brutally tough. It looks like the wind is 5-6 mph so that shouldn't be too much of a factor.

I again offer to send in the entry fee.  Tomorrow if necessary!

Good luck with that if you are going to give it to the highest winner who isn't already qualified at the IL state championship (which is what I think you said you'd do). I gave it to the highest winner who wasn't already qualified who promised me face to face that he would go at the Peoria Open. Kris Hutter won the Peoria Open and told me that he could and would attend the USDGC if I gave him the exemption. You can give the exemption to whoever you want to, but you can't make them go. The only way to guarantee that someone will go is to take the exemption and go yourself. Or to do like I did the year before and have a special event with no prizes other than the exemption because the only people who attended that event were ready and willing to attend...of course this wound up being you also!  ;)

It's too bad Kris did not go. He's a great player and I think he could tear that course up. I noticed quite a while ago that he was not registered. I understand you cannot make anyone go. I however have ensured someone will go and would have contacted the next person in line or found someone to fill that spot. Hopefully the procedures I have in place for 2007 will ensure someone from IL will be there even if it's not me.

With all of the hype surrounding that tournament I'm surprised someone would not go if they had a spot. Shoot I'd go down there and play and I would be happy taking last!

I feel bad for this Mark Stubbs guy... just not his day it looks like.  he's +24 after 6 holes! 7,8,7,8,9,7 are his scores... unless he's not there, then that would make more sense.  It's 7+number of throws above 3 to make par (so for hole 5 it's 7+2 since hole 5 is par 5).  Stinks if he missed his tee time!

Mark is actually a friend of mine, he won the CFR exemption. He's not a bad player either, so I'm wondering what is going on.

Did Hutter give any reason for not going? Hell, I'd love to even be there as a spectator vs. sitting here at work. Warmer weather & the best disc golfers in the world? No brainer.

Hole 17 must be a huge risk/reward hole because the first couple groups have finished the course, and it's either all deuces or a double bog, one person with a single bog.  I know that the basket is pretty close to the edge of the water, but maybe those double bogeys are 2 ob trips into the water? I don't know if they have rope on this hole either...

Alright I guess Stubbs didn't even go to South Carolina so that is why his scores are like that.

You're right. The way to do it is to pay it yourself and lock it in. The deadline was only two weeks from when I gave it out so there wasn't much time to do anything else. Had I paid it myself then it wouldn't have mattered.

Hole 17 is the island hole. You get two tries to make it onto the island before going to the drop zone. If you are curious check out the caddy bok. http://www.usdgc.com/pdf/caddybookweb.pdf

Hole 17 is an island green. You either make it on the island or you do not. If you land on the green you have a pretty makeable putt.  It's downhill with hay bails guarding the front side. Water is on the back side of the green.

By "either you make it on the island or you do not" does that mean that the only option is to re-tee? In other words you can't play it where it went out of bounds and there isn't a drop zone?

Hole #17— (249') "Island Green"marking rule
in effect. See general ground rule #10. Area
inside pine bales is the only in-bounds. All else,
including bales themselves, is out-of-bounds.
Marking option for OB tee shot limited to retee
for first miss. After second miss, throw from drop
spot inside bales. Normal OB rules apply after
disc has come to rest inside the bales or throws
from drop spot.
