I went and played there in September? I think.  Due to time constraints we only played holes 1-8 and 16.  I think I had MAYBE one 3.  All the rest were bogeys or worse.  I really wish they would open up some of the fairways at least, or who knows what.  Aside from the commentary on that though, the one sad thing that I noticed was that a lot of the chains on the baskets were rusty!  I don't know if they received bad chains, reused baskets, or if they were tampered with, but rusty chains makes for a ghetto-like course really quick.  There was also graffity on a lot of the yellow DISCatcher bands around the top of the basket.  Many of the decal letters has been removed. "Innova" had "no" left on a lot of spots.

It's easier for people to get away with stuff like that because it IS so tucked into the woods.  That creek on the side of 7 and 8 was nasty.. surrounded by lots of bushes with thorns and other junk.

I'd like to give this course another chance, I really do.  I'd also like to play it all the way through.  I'll just know to only play it during fall and winter and to make sure to wear pants instead of shorts lol.

I at least liked the open fairway on hole 16... but then when you get down near the basket it's tucked into the forest area about 30+ feet, so if you miss that opening on your drive, you'll be lucky to get a 3.

Anyone play this course in a while?  I just moved to Lincoln Park in Chicago and this is the only course besides Edgebrook that I can get to using the L train and buses.  Just want to know how it is now.

Awesome, I will check it out.  I just moved from oswego a couple days ago, so I have to get used to not having a course 2 blocks from my house and another one 10 minutes away.

Anyone know where this thread went to? I know there was discussion about this park from myself, taylor, and dan. I am reviewing summitt and this topic has seemed to vanished.

I got 2nd in the Summit Slam in 2008. Very tight fairways, but plenty of 2's out there. Go out and practice it before any tournament, alot of holes, you need placement on your drives. #1 is an easy 2 to start it off. But after that, 2-5 are a challenge, with #3, being 1 of the hardest  holes I have ever played. Your 1st shot has to find the fairway, or you will take at least a 5. My card was my 3(90' foot/approach) a 5, 7 and 8. The back 9 really opens up compared to the front, with maybe just 2 poke & hope holes. That tournament was the 1st time I played the course, besides the morning warmup. Like +7 round 1, but -1 the 2nd, to miss 1st by 1 or 2 strokes.
Long arm players stay home, if you can't be accurate. You wont need any distance but maybe 2-3 holes.
Definitley worth checking out if you have never been. Unless it has changed sine May 2008???
