"The use of drugs is a perverse expression of individualism, antisocial and life-denying,It isn't an assertion of individuality; it's a substitute for it. It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

At least the hills aren't as bad as the Toboggan's Speed Golf......

So is it the fastest time or the first one to be less than 60?

If it was first one, I'd give it a shot tomorrow morning. Seems easy enough. (of course I'd have to find a witness).

There was some discussion of speed rounds on the PDGA forums fairly recently. I'll try and dig those up at some point today. I've definitely heard of speed rounds being a lot of fun. What about other people on the course though? That could definitely slow things down!

Ooo man, definitely something that I know my body could not handle lol, but I can definitely handle the part of picking from my stock for the winnings ;)

I could maybe see me playing 18 holes in 60 minutes, but 36 in 60? wow, that's like a Barrett round.

Here's thie link from pdga.com.
On some 18  hole courses there are times under 12 minutes. Fairfield twice in 60 should be easy enough.

Speed rounds need to be done off peak. I've often had courses to myself (or one other group) many times midweek while kids are still in school.

I've gone through West Park in Joliet in 45 minutes and that's 24 holes. Granted Fairfield is longer, but running it 1-disc-wonder style might make it

Actually 2 disc is faster if playing PDGA rules. Saves the trouble of marking everything if you use the last thrown disc to mark your lie.

I'll do it this afternoon or tomorrow morning if I can get a witness. Post the time you can be at the course and I'll be there.

Last time we played Rolling Hills there was a guy playing speed golf.  He teed ahead of us coming off 18, lapped us on 7 and lapped us again on 14.  We played a two hour round so he must have been playing 40 minute rounds.  Mike, do the math on that, would you?  Anyway he looked like he was having all the fun of being chased by dogs.   ;D

7*(18/120) = (18+7) * speed

speed = 1.8666 holes/minute

He did 36 holes in around 67 minutes.

I wonder how many rounds he was pacing for as that was at least his 2nd and 3rd round.

There you go. New lunch time activity at an IOS.  ;D

Yeah, too bad we don't have a course with a major hill, when I saw the Toboggan Speed Golf holes & the struggling competitors, I was laughin my butt off.

Valpo's hill hole, I forget what # it is, would be good, and then play the hole along the bottom, and then the hole up the hill. That would be brutal.

Bruce Brakel

Rolling Hills really is hilly, but not like the Tobbogan.  But that guy did at least three rounds.  He was moving along at a safe jog for the conditions.
