Are there any women out there running a women's only league? If not, anyone interested in getting together once a month to play disc golf? Bevier, Adler, Willow Stream, Round Lake, or any other suggestions?

Becky/Brett, do you think doing something through the YWCA or local Womens Workout Places is a good route?

CEValkyrie

I have no clue  This seems to be a problem that no one has a solution for. Seems like there are very few female players & turnouts are very low everywhere.

Why not subscribe to the 'Field of Dreams' concept for a Women's league? If you run it they will come... I'm sure it wouldn't be a gigantic rush in the beginning, but after a while it should pick up.

I can remember a time not too long ago when getting more than 8 at best shot was a big deal.

We can advertise in the Chippendales program.......
Just put in a pic of Jay's Arm of Might and watch 'em line up!

I think the Field of Dreams concept can work, but I think Becky wants to find at least one other person to start it with her.

Well, yeah... its not much of a league if there isn't a seed pool to get it started.

Did Becky get a phone # of that lady that was at Streamwood? She was there when I got there @ 11:30 & didn't leave until after I did. She was pretty darn good.

I would say post it everywhere. Local courses would certainly be a good start.

Maybe don't bill it as a Womens' league but maybe just a recurring ladies-only casual round? I'm thinking back to the article in either the most recent DGWN or maybe the one before... There was an article about this very subject.

We would probably have to post actual flyers at courses. It seems that trolling for lurking women on this board isn't working, but I've seen women playing casually at all the Chicago area courses I've been to. Your market is at the course but apparently not on these boards.

Yeah. For now, at least, this board is mainly a sausage party. ;)

Why not try to host a Women's League @ Buffalo Grove if Becky is going to organize it. Close to your house. I may even start posting about it now & do it in the spring when the weather warms up. Just an idea.

I think Brett's right. Get myself organized and advertise for a Spring start. Buffalo Grove is a good starter course. Thanks for your help guys :D

Hopefully you'll get a few responses. Even if you can't get a league started, hopefully you can find a handful of women that want to get together & play casually every week. Then maybe it will expand from there.
