Sandy Point DGR- Lac Du Lambeau

Anyone play this course in Wisconsin? Me and a couple of buddies are planning a weekend trip for this summer. We want to play a sweet course & camp overnight. Anyone got any ideas.

Sandy Point is an AWESOME course! Myself and other friends have been there for a long weekend the last two summers...

Mike & Michelle are really cool people, and I'd suggest staying in the cabins, if you're planning a trip with 4 or more people. Getting reservations is key, however, and they're filling up fast. If you do get a reservation, you're in luck - you can re-reserve the same weekend for the following year, and so on.



Oh man, this place is definately a disc golf paradise.... The Pro Shop is HUGE!!!

Umm... from around us it'll take about 5 hours of straight driving time, if I remember correctly. There is 1 course in Milwaukee (Valley View), 3 in Madison (Elver, Hiestand, and Token Creek), and a couple others off of hwy 51 between Madison and the resort.

And don't forget, you cruise right through Stevens Point, which now has 4 perm courses!

Jason & I are addicted to disc golf. We both just started this past summer & we are trying to set a weekend to camp out & play disc golf out of state this summer.  Looking more towards Wisconsin right now. Anyone play that new course in Manitowoc. (Silver Creek Park) Looks sweet. Give us some ideas if you have any. If you would like to join us let me know. Later

How long of a drive is it up to this place?  Also, do you know of any good courses along the way to stop and play at?

If I drive straight though without stopping it takes about 4 and 1/2 hours to get to Sandy Point.  The best way to do it is leave 2 days before you want to be up there.  Day 1, stop at Dreska in the morning (milwaukee), go to Token Creek in Madison and get a campsite then go to Heistand play a round then get a long and a short game in at Token Creek.....Party at the campfire, and burn some meat on grill....day 2 drive to Stevens Point, play standing rocks get a campsite at Lake Emily and go play Yulga.  Yulga is a new course with a wicked tough layout for flat ground, this is the home of the WI Tour Finals, where top 20% in each division play a round of skins for some good money.   You may want to play this course twice, but your legs are going to be on fire from all the elevation on the last course, so .....Party at the campfire, and burn some meat on grill....cause the next day you will be at Sandy Point.  

  I went to Manitowoc last year for a tournament and thought that it was a well laid out course, except for #3 which is something like 380 uphill and then you had to backtrack back down the hill to tee off on the next hole it shuts down the play, since you have to wait for the group ahead of you to get off the fairway.  They use the elevation well on this course.  It is a must stop if your at the Appleton or Sheboygen courses.
