I'm not expecting any Illinois players to make the trek over here for this, but I can post documents here, and then post the url on PDGA.com.

Strangely, I'll post the flyer tomorrow and the Players' Guide today, but only because the flyer is on my work computer.

Here is the basic flyer info though:

The player guide is attached below, for those of you coming here from pdga.com.

We're playing two rounds of 21 or so holes of Best Shot doubles on a traditional par 3 temporary course.  The clubhouse will be selling beverages.  You can eat your own lunch or buy lunch at the course.  Divisions are based on combined rating:

Expert      1910+         All Divisions will be paid out in Brass.
Advanced   <1910         Brass is funny money:  U-pick prizes.
Intermediate   <1830         15 Brass player packs for all players.
Recreational   <1750         Really good payouts, about 150%,
counting player packs, CTPs and all.

Mapquest zip code 48418 or grid search Byron, Michigan, on an MDOT map.

wish I could be out there that weekend!  Out of curiosity, how big is the pond on 8 and 14 that everyone will have to throw around or over?  I never am a fan of water heh.

The pond on 8 you play safe by laying up to the left.  Then it is only 75 to 100 feet across it.  People who get in that pond usually were trying to throw long right turning drives to cross it off the tee.  That's a 325 foot throw.  I tried that Saturday and crashed short in the schule on the right.

The pond on 14 you can cross as much of it as you want.  Going for the 2 requires a 300 foot shot across the water, but you can play 200 or 100 feet of the water or none of the water, whatever suits your game.  I went for it Saturday and parked the flag.

Kelsey and I played the course Saturday and did not lose one disc to the water.  Kelsey put a drive in the creek on 16, which was really an impressive throw, but we got it back.

The course incorporates one of my favorite features of Flip City where on several holes you walk uphill between holes to throw downhill on the next, or you play a very short deuceable hole uphill to throw downhill on the next.  There are six or seven fun downhill drives.

Risk/reward is the best tho Scott!

Heh, my goal is to sell the stuff in my inventory to OTHERS, not to myself after losing discs in the pond ;)  Now if there was enough ice to skip it back in bounds since I can only barely throw 300 on my best drives ever... different story ;)

Looks like the ponds will be frozen solid for the tournament.  I'd never go on a golf course pond to get a disc because that skanky water does not freeze properly, but they will probably be safe for disc retreival.  Frozen or not, they are still out of bounds.

Mine too.  Willow Brook Golf Course is not Flip City, but it is its own thing.  The warming house has a cash bar, for one thing!

We had 35 players, -30 wind chills, intermittant white out conditions -- it was a blast!  I did not play.  I did spend most of the day outside because after we rescued Ziggy from the creek, someone had to walk with the odd group.  We raised $239 and 200 pounds of food for the charity.
