bear in mind that in our wonderful american society than you can be held liable for the deeds you take upon the lunch thief.

That being said, what about a motion activated camera trained on the refrigerator? Hell, 6 years ago there was a company called Axis that had network attached webcams that you could stream live from or have them upload a still to a FTP server every X seconds. if you really want to get them back, and chances are they're not just eating your uneaten lunch, there's nothing like photographic evidence of employee theft given to supervisors which plays the written reprimand/suspension/termination tune so well.

Yup, Axis is still around. http://www.axis.com
Their cheapest camera new is $200, but I'm sure you could find secondhand on ebay for much less....

Oh, remind me to never have salad in high school cafeterias. That's just wrong on so many levels.... Some kids are so evil

When I was in college about a hundred years ago I protested the food service quality the last time I ate there.  I tossed a pack of firecrackers into the salad and walked out without looking back.  I am told that the array of greens was quite impressive.  I never saw it. Its a great story now.  But, in accord with my earlier post on this thread, I would not do that again.
