Fox Metro Discer

Brett or John,
I am thinking of having my 5 yr old play at Jericho, what is the lowest age division you will be having?

Will you have an adult to go with him in case he runs out of gas or decides to quit for any reason?

Jr >10 is our lowest division. I agree with Bruce that an adult should be with that group.

Same alternates?

That is the plan.

The green for last year's hole 7A is under water and will probably stay that way for a while.

I heard that the creek has risen.  High.  Go figure.  Michael E told me that you can't cross the bridge to the back nine & that hole #3's basket is almost entirely underwater.  Three weeks until IOS #5, keep an eye on this course, & start putting together a back-up plan!

3 weeks is a long time.  Just be glad the tourney isn't next week.

Accuweather is calling for two weeks of mostly good weather.  Maybe things will dry out.

Hey, hey, holy mackerall!  I traded a sweet Cubs Big Bead Aviar today at league for three ordinary but new discs.  Go Cubs!  I also drew a contender for biggest bagger of all time at league today and we finished first.

I'm quite sure the course will be playable within a week or so. The rivers around here crested on Friday night into Saturday so Aurora probably crested today.

It's mainly just 2, 3, and 4 that are the problems in the front right now:

The problems in the back are 10, 11, 17, 18, and I couldn't see beyond that:

Everybody bring discs that float. Anything on dry land will be OB.

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

I am not an expert on these things and don't know how long it will take for the water to recede much less dry, but what are the odds that Jericho will still be a flood or mucky, marshy, muddy, mush in three weeks?  The pictures are pretty impressive.  Is it worthwhile to consider a backup?

pickax

Flooded? It shouldn't be flooded by the IOS, but it will take some time for the ground to be dried out. The best scenario would keep the course closed for the next few weeks so that the turf is not completely destroyed. My guess is that the locals are like the rest of us and just want to play. It will probably be a mess still for a while.

can't putt

Hole 3 and holes 17 & 18 never really completely dried out from this past winter but were very playable.  Earlier this spring, rainwater made 2,3,4 and most of the back nine unplayable, but the ground recovered nicely.  The real question in my mind is how much silt washed in from the creek.  If a lot, then those holes could be a mess for a very long time.  If little, then I think there will be no problem.  Provided of course the wet weather does not continue.  As an alternate, Eagle Ridge should be considered as it's close geographically, holds up very well to rain, and is a decent course.  Although the tee pads are not concrete, they are certainly better than Crystal Lake.

Fox Metro Discer

The only problem with considering Eagle Ridge is that when our club spoke with the park district in Oswego as they were putting in the new 9 holes, it was stated to us that they would not allow the course to be closed for a tournament; it is a public park. I can check into the possibility of reserving it, if wanted.
