???????

I think they are battling over  Waukegan, NE Illinois, Greater Chicagoland, Great Lakes, Club O' the Americas etc.  I kind of like a geographical link used in a calypso song done by Corky Siegel a number of years ago-- "southwest coast".  Essentially, the southwest coast of Lake Michigan.

The Illinois Disc Golf Tour will be an Illinois Series with a select events and TD's. I will have the schedule at the meeting and discuss some details.

I brought this up to the club officers and we have discussed it behind the scenes and would like to openly talk about it at this meeting.

Since our membership covers such a broad area we want to eliminate the wording that Waukegan is the home courses of DISContinuum. We want to open it up to more of a general area.

DISContinuum is the source for disc golf for our entire region (Northern Illinois...and probably beyond). I can think of 15 or so people from Aurora/Naperville (and the neighboring cities) that check this board regularly. If I can think of 15, there are probably a lot more.

Joliet, Rockford, Wisconsin, Peoria, the Quad-Cities, us in the Fox Valley area, and so on...we all check this board for information on what's happening in disc golf in our region. Other area boards don't have the information, and aren't as active.

I think the IOS is what set DISContinuum apart from the rest. So it may have started off as a local disc golf community. But its reach/interest has grown much farther than information related to disc golf within the 847 area code.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with those comments. We have club members from all over and many that run league throughout this area. That is why i'd like to alter the wording.

Minutes of club meeting 2/11/07

Members present: Mukey, David B, Becky B, Brett C, Al S, KVN; there were not any non-members.

1) Finances-bank account is stable, $4700 cash/liquid $430 merch; Next payments due: IOS#1 insurance for Parkside ($240), Federal and State income taxes, Spring merch order (including but not limited to:Quads, discs, Huk Sits), club insurance.
2) We'll be ordering our second batch of 75 bag tags...69 members so far :) 50% of these are renewals from last year. In 2006, we had a 75% renewal from 2005.
3) Club Challenge 3/10/07 being run by Tom McManus at Jericho Lake in Aurora. There is no entry fee. Format to be determined. Contact Tom for more info.
4) Wording and location of Discontinuum: We're going for shorter wording (for things like the new club shirts, for example) and a broader location. One suggestion was to make the map on the opening page of the website to have a colored in area that goes from Kenosha on the Northern boarder, Rockford on the Western boarder, and Peoria on the South.
5) IOS dates are confirmed:

April 21 & 22-> IOS #1 @ Kenosha, WI
May 19 & 20-> IOS #2 @ Lombard, IL
June 23 & 24-> IOS #3 @ Crystal Lake, IL
July 07 & 08-> IOS #4 @ Rockford, IL
September 15 & 16-> IOS #5 @ Aurora, IL
October 20 & 21-> IOS #6 @ Round Lake, IL

Note-there is not an IOS in August.....there's some big disc golf shindig in Milwaukee, I hear.  ;)

6) IL Disc Golf tour {Brett-are you going to start a thread for that?}
  There are some donated trophies for this and Brett will have details worked out by the end of March.
7) League moving 1 time/month to the new 9 hole Grayslake course starting next month. It will be the day of the club meeting (2nd Sunday, right?). It is behind the school on 83 and Washington. Contact Brett for more specific directions.
8: Club shirts-Mukey got a couple of quotes. One of the quotes is for a rapid dry shirt. See Mukey's shirt thread, if interested in a shirt.
9) Big Chang Tour-Brett still following up with this; Possible club or series sponsor. Details to follow.
10) Brett has a layout for league doubles to take place at the Forest Preserve sometime this Spring. We discussed getting a wide variety of people to participate and get lots of pictures of the various sizes of the Discontinuum membership and participants!
