You should offer what you think is right for your tournament. I was just curious.

No prob.  It was a thought provoking question :)

I know I plan on having a lot of fun here... I'm going to be sitting out and doing all of the fun tournament related duties, but hopefully I get to see a lot of people come on out!  We absolutely want to see this field maxed.

One issue that might pop up is parking.  There's maybe only 6 or 7 parking spaces right by the tee for hole 1.  We're probably going to have 2 of those used for the people running the tournament to make it easier to unload everything.  What you can do is go up to the light just beyond the parking area and turn left.  I'm fairly certain you can park along one side of the street if not both sides.  You would be parking along the baseball field (near hole 8A) and hole 9.  It's not a bad walk to tournament central from there.  Tournament central is currently planned to be set up on the far side of the tennis courts before you get to the tee for hole 2.  That *might* have to get changed depending on the status of the mud, but we'll see.

Also Note: We will have water and some snacks available for purchase at any time throughout the day.  For those coming out, would there be any interest in some Gatorade?  I know the current forecast says about a high of 32 for the day, mostly sunny, but while it's cold out you can still heat up fast when playing 40 holes of disc golf!  We'll probably have some chips and granola bars available as the snacks.  I haven't picked any of that up yet to know for sure what will be available.

Pre-registrations for this event would be greatly appreciated to help streamline the process of getting the field together!

I forgot one other thing too, and E-Roc can correct me if I miss something or don't have all of the details.  It looks like we might also have one of the sponsors, RoccoVino's, coming out with pizza available to purchase by the slice in between rounds.  That's another reason why it's important to pre-register so that we can give them some sort of heads up before the day of the tournament to know how many people we expect to have come out!

I ran an unsanctioned tournament for 111 players last fall and six of them pre-registered!  I had more players trying to register five minutes before registration was to close than i had players pre-registered.

I spoke with the owner of RoccoVino's, and she said that it will most likely be too cold for her to come out and sell slices of pizza.  However, the Elk Grove location is on the NorthEast corner of Biesterfield and Meacham Roads (About a half a block from Clark Park).  I will have about 30 menus on hand set out on one of the tables for anyone who plans on eating lunch there between rounds.

The trophy discs are in the mail, first place for Advanced, Intermediate, Recreational and Women.  So if you're a woman thinking, "I don't even know if we're going to have a division," well, you got a trophy!  They turned out nice.  I'll post pictures later.

I will make sure and mention a Big Thanks to you in the announcement before the 1st round.

How are the numbers looking for this event? Anyone thinking about going that hasn't pre-reg'd? I think I want to get out there and play this weekend and I am tentatively planning on doing so. What is this course like? I've not been out there before.

for you? lots of deuces.  the tees are all concrete, and 5 times as big as you ever need them to be.  So at least you can have a nice, flat run up.  There are some tricky routes to a lot of the holes, and the hole we're adding is pretty tough.  If you don't clear the baseball field on your drive you'll find yourself having a tough time getting a 3.  The fence will probably be around 250'-275' feet out maybe?  I haven't played the hole yet.  I just know what it looks like.  The hole is about 325'-350'.  Wind is a definite factor on this course for many holes, so it may look easy but then wind up to be a little more challenging than you think.

Eric can respond better about the pre-registrations, although we are anticipating a full field.  We've had probably at least 15 people verbally say they are going to be there, but I don't know how many of those will show as well as how many that haven't talked to either one of us yet are still planning on going.

There is currently about 2-3" of snow on the ground out there, but I fully anticipate that to all melt with the predicted temperatures for Wed/Thurs.  Friday should cool things down out there hopefully enough that it will freeze the ground over and prevent a lot of mud.  It will be a little windy and chilly out there Saturday, but it's the usual unpredictable March weather.  It's definitely time to start getting out and warming up for this year's season!

I dont' know how many are pre-registered.  I know a friend and I are planning on going.  If the weather isn't too bad, I think the field will max out, most likely.  So, should be fun.

The course is shortish, but is uses the existing trees and bushes and slight elevation changes well to keep it interesting.  Definitely room for plenty of dueces (some ace opportunites as well).  I've played it three times and it's growing on me.

Eric runs a fun tournament, so I say come on out.

So far, 3 people have pre-registered for Saturday's event.  About 30 people have verbally or through e-mail, said they will be there.

With the added hole, I will be capping the field off at 50 players.

Holy cow Bruce did you really out-do yourself with these trophy discs!! They are BEAUTIFUL!  We have one for advanced/intermediate/recreational/womens.  Advanced and Intermediate will receive a 174g ESP Crush 1st Place trophy disc.  Recreational will receive a 172g Star Orc 1st Place trophy disc, and Womens will receive a 150g Star Sidewinder trophy discs.  All discs great choices for each division!  Man I wish I was playing so that I had a shot at one of these lol.

I'll try to get pictures up tonight, we'll see.  I have a lot on my plate as usual to take care of completing.

THANK YOU BRUCE BRAKEL!!

So estimating the time to play this course, do you think that the rounds and the awards will be over by 5, or even better, earlier?
