But the names of the last few discs have been bunk. The Skeeter or the Kite?

If you could name the next new disc, any manufacturer, what would you use?
You could also describe how it would fly, somewhat being related to the name.

For instance, the Innova Cicada would be a new Innova understable midrange, similar to the Coyote, Skeeter, etc.
This is a disc that is only used for extreme turnover shots once in a long while. (I know, stretching)

sounds like a disc you would throw once every 17 years.. ba dump ching!

maybe they could make a putt/approach designed to do floater shots similar to what you would do in Ultimate called the Ghost.. release it around Halloween.

Going along the dinosaur theme a fairway driver called the Velociraptor would be cool.  It would be designed to stay low and move very fast.

I know that there has been (mixed manufacturers) an Eagle, Hawk, Talon, and Condor, but has there been a Falcon?  A disc made for hyzer bombs or tomahawks that will fly high and stick its landing after it hits the ground really hard.

New Putter - the Zone.  locks in on the target

the Mammoth - super fast overstable disc, like a faster Starfire or something.

the Grunt - seems to be the major workhorse of mid-ranges, can be used for flat, anny's, or hyzer shots.  it could have a picture of a wild hog on it or something.

you could go more on a sci-fi theme... discraft just came out with the meteor, but there's still an Asteroid, or the Galaxy.

How about a Geyser?  A driver disc with a huge amount of glide.

how about a speed 12 disc, faster than the Wraith?  call it the Roar.

You could do a whole cat theme along with the Cheetah and Leopard and add on the Lion and Tiger (and hey, a Bear too!).  Other names that I thought of when trying to think of the Roar could be: Phantom, Fusion, Streak, Rapier, Warp, Vapor, Behemoth, Blink, Fear, or Cynosure.  I haven't been in disc golf long enough to know if any of these names have been used a long time ago or if some small company has started using them recently.

returning to the topic at hand.... and maybe I should rephrase that.

The *real* cicadas are THICK on the south side!! I don't really recall 'em 17 yrs ago (I don't recall much of anything from 17 yrs ago... but seriously folks...), maybe there weren't all that many in the 'City' itself...

I went down to Mokena today, and once you get on LaGrange Road off I-55 the sound is like an avalanche of crickets multiplied by about 100 coming from all the forest preserve areas.

A couple got into my bag and while I was walking along with it on my back they started screeching. Ultimately pretty funny but I'm glad my bladder was empty. They look like grasshoppers with enormous bright red eyes.

Weird. My brother & I were out at Mokena last weekend but there were hardly any there. Lots in Downers Grove though.

Nothing in the Wheeling/Buffalo Grove area either. Cicadas seem to like the pine tree right in front of our balcony and usually there's at least one this time of year screeching on and off all day. Curious where the yearly cicadas are this year...not that I miss them!
