Hey my name is Joe and I am from Tennessee. I am going to be living in Schaumburg for the summer and was hoping to get some help on where some courses are around the area. I'd love to get a bag tag to have some fun there and also do course maintence if needed. So let me know some good news so i can fling some pies. Or maybe some other fun things to do in the area.

Cheers
Joe

If you have wheels, there is a one-day tournament in Crystal Lake one week from now.  Pro and Advanced play Saturday.  Intermediate and Recreationals play Sunday.  Even if you don't have wheels, there are players coming from the Schaumberg area.  You could probably get a ride.

Also if you have wheels there are weekly doubles pretty much every night of the week within an hour's drive of you.
Don't forget your towel!

Whats the cost for that tourney? And where is Crystal Lake? Also any names of courses close? or semi close. I have wheels.

Crystal Lake is about 25 minutes or so NW from Schaumburg. The best thing to do to get info on courses is to go to pdga.com and look at the course directory. From there you can get directions etc. The other resource for Chicagoland courses is the link in the menu bar in the left column of this forum.

For information about the Crystal Lake tournament visit Brass Cash.

Closest decent course to you is probably Shady Oaks in Streamwood.

Come out to Shady Oaks doubles tomorrow. We start at 6:00. $7

Sounds good. Now for the issue of tags. Much tag play around here? I'd love to throw down. Especially if the money helps the sport.

Also where is the hardest and best course in Chicagoland?

Younk

I'm also in Schaumburg so send me a PM if you need directions or a ride to either the doubles (shady oaks) or the tournament on Sunday (crystal lake), I'll be doing both.

peace,

Davenport.

Seriously, the best courses are all a drive.

Some decent 18 hole courses reasonably close to you include:
Fairfield (Round Lake)
Lippold Park (Crystal Lake)
Madison Meadows  (Lombard)
Jericho Lake (Aurora)
Eagle Ridge(Oswego)

My favorites include:
The Oaks (Mokena - 27 holes)
West Park (Joliet - 23? holes)
Anna Page (Rockford - 36 holes)

Rockford is really a pretty easy drive from Schaumburg -- it'll take you about 1-1/4 hrs.

Others, I'm sure, have different opinions.  Your mileage may vary.

The best in the area are probably The Oaks in Mokena, West Park in Joliet, and Anna Page Park in Rockford. It's a much longer drive, but a day trip to the Peoria area to play the courses in Morton and Pekin is well worth it.

Another good option for that distance is Lemon Lake in Indiana.

Welcome to the area!
