December 2007 Club Meeting Notes

Discontinuum club meeting for the month of December, 2007 was held at Pizza Hut in Waukegan immediately after Sunday doubles on December 16th, 2007 at approximately 1:00pm CST. These are the notes as taken by Club Secretary, Jon Brakel.

Attending the meeting were: Club President Brett Comincioli, Vice President Tom McManus, Treasurer Al Short, Secretary Jon Brakel plus club members Tom Schotler, Adrian Gutierrez jr., and Maddisen Brakel.

1. Club Elections
Annual elections were held. Brett provided the count of e-mail votes and Jon counted the in person ballots and gave a total to Brett. All positions were filled unanimously. Your Discontinuum Board of Directors for 2008 are as follows:
President: Brett Comincioli
Vice President: Tom McManus
Treasurer: Al "Mirth" Short
Secretary: Tom Schotler

2. 2008 Bag Tags/Membership drive
Sergio's design was the winner and he will be given a free club membership for 2008. Mirth is ordering bag tags. 2008 membership will be $15 for adults and $7 for juniors under 16 years of age. Joining or renewing your PDGA membership through the club will save $5 off the regular PDGA membership.

3. Finances
Current balances and club assets:
Bank: $3459.85
Petty Cash: $1372.00
PayPal: $604.75
Sum of Accounts: $5436.60
Wholesale value of merchandise on hand (discs, etc.): $1100.00
We have sold about 25 club memberships for 2008 so far.

4. Monthly Newsletter
Tom M would like to continue writing it. Jon is going to look into ways to publish the newsletter graphically with pictures and layout.

5. Commercial on Youtube
Brett discussed putting together a Discontinuum commercial that could be published on YouTube. No one at the meeting has the technical know how/time.

6. Others
Jon is working on club shirts and will have quotes in the beginning of January. Should be able to have them available in the club store by the end of January. It was decided that the shirts would be embroidered with "Discontinuum Disc Golf Club".

Brett is still working on a clinic idea but has not gotten a schedule from anyone that he has inquired about doing it.
