There was a significant spike in registrations today.  Check out the updated PDGA lists:

Does this imply that some Spikes are insignificant?

Ter, sorry I can't attend this one.  Out of town guests to entertain...
have the good fun.

Great question Damon:

Here is what I also just posted to the PDGA thread:

I just worked something out this afternoon and I'll have a more detailed post tonight!  Gotta get some things set up but later tonight there will be a mass e-mail to all participants with TONS of great information including the food situation.

Thanks!

Sorry that you can't make it Spike - I love it when you come to my events.

Terry:

I know this is a longshot, but any chance there will be food vendors there on Sunday?

Terry,

Sending out an email prior to the event is great. It was very helpful for the WTWU.

looks like a full field for tomorrow.  25 mph winds!  thats perfect because I wasn't planning on making any putts anyways.   :D

Terry, thanks for clarifying that curbs are part of the road and ob.  That has been a subject of discussion in the past ("even though my disk is lying in the middle of the road and went out over the road way back here it bounced off the curb up there and should be spotted where it touched the curb").

Dan Michler

Excellent course setup for GMO.  I really like those pin placements.

I got the scores up last night when Dane and I went to Applebees.

I also just finished entering in today's scores.  There was a typo or two from Saturday and I'll get those fixed tomorrow once I find my notes about them.

Thanks to everyone that came.

PS - The Tom Holsten basket was won by a local club member, a huge helper, and a great guy - Mike Ellery.  Our local Am Worlds Champ, Greg Schwartz was on hand to draw names and since he didn't have any tickets in there I had him pull the winning ticket.

Thanks to Terry for running a great event. It was nice to see Mike win the basket, he and Loretta put in a ton of time promoting disc golf.

Today wasn't quite as windy as yesterday, but it was cooler. A few sprinkles.  Great job on getting the scores up so quickly, it is one of the things that players really appreciate. I think today's group was the most well behaved that I have ever seen at an awards ceremony.

It would be nice if all disc golfers see how much work goes into running an event. Besides all the preliminary work, there are a group of people that work from dawn until after dark to put on an event of this size.

Thanks to Mark and all those involved with Dretzka. The new permanent 9 holes are really nice. The last of the 9 is a very fun, very tough hole.

heh. That's the only hole I managed to birdie yesterday, and I did it both rounds.   ???

Really well-run event on a great course; the lunch delivery was much appreciated.  Although it was embarrassing to accept any kind of prize considering how I shot, I honestly did need another polo shirt....  :D

Thanks Terry & Associates.....
thanks,

You're referring to the last one in the woods, right?  Playing north with the small gap about 1/2 way to the pin?  I agree -- fun and challenging.

Terry, you commented during the player's meeting that the 10 meter circles and wind flags added to the professionalism of the event.  I couldn't agree more.  Those kinds of details make an event stand out.  Nice job, and thanks again for a well run and fun day.

It was nice having the awards in the pavilion.  I think that helped focus everyone's attention.  The one thing I would consider in the future is to close the merch. table during the awards.

The 10 meter circles were really sweet A++

Yea stuff like the circles and flags really is awesome.

I can't imagine Tom is referring to hole 11E through the woods, but maybe he is! Tough hole yes, but fun it is not. Too much of a crap shoot on that hole for my taste!

The last of the nine is the one where you throw toward the road and then walk across the road to hole 12. Low cieling with a bunch of birch trees creating one or two nice gaps to throw through.

Everyone has already said how such a great event it was that I really can't add anything. Although we played 27 holes, I think people should be able to realize that a layout and long tees for the world's event would have taken too long to have two full fields playing the original course each day.

Great event. Great player pack. Excellent amenities (lunch delivery, 10m circles, flags, distances/ob on course sheet, etc.)

PLAYERS BEWARE: When I learn to putt, you're all in trouble  ;)

Thanks again.

Hey everyone,

I had been asked by a few people about the status of the United States Amateur Qualifying process.  Since this was the first year of me being a qualifier I wasn't sure about all of the details.  So, I e-mailed the TD and here is what he told me on Monday, May 19th.

"I will get the qualified players up before the weekend and the  PDGA will email them invites if they have an email, otherwise I will "Snail Mail" them.  If someone is interested, the can go here, find out if they are qualified, and then register here."

Thanks!

tacimala

Ha Terry after all that discussion between you and I about it, I qualified through a whole different scenario altogether!

Yeah,

As soon as he sent me that link I went out there to see if your name was on there.  I saw that it was but because of your rating - not your play at the GMO.  None the less - you're in and best of luck to you when you go.
