I used to say it was soft plastic for me, as I've stuck by my stack of old SE Rhynos, but last week I hit many more putts using a Champion Rhyno. Champion definetly seems to be more wind-resistant/consistent

Thoughts?

I like em supple. My wife has a beautiful 3x JK putter, but she won't let me have it.  :'(

I prefer gateway putters.. not a fan of the drivers.. But i only putt with a stupid super soft warlock... its money

I like soft putters too.  Currently I'm throwing soft Magnets from 2001, a Second Run Disc Golf University and an MDGO.  I think i'll stay with these for more than a year unless I lose one.  For a putter-driver I'm throwing the soft Banger.

I like soft putters for putting, and something firm for driving. I used to love the really floppy putters for putting, now I think I prefer something more rigid.

Anyone who knows me knows that it is pumpkin DX aviars all the way!  Although I am using a supercolor challenger for driving as well. I would like to try that stupid super soft, it seems like it does nothing but grab chains from what I have seen.

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

I used Soft Challengers for the last couple years.  At BG I grew fond of a more stiff putter during the putting contest in the gym & I switched to Pro-D Challengers.  I now use the Pro-D for a driving putter and have taken quite fondly to the Magic I got in a player pack a acouple weeks ago in St. Louis.  So it's Magic for "putts" and Pro-D Challenger for putter drives or short-medium range back hand approaches.

I'm not cutting them out completely, but if I do I'll let you know Damon

I like putters in base plastic because it tends to be grippier, especially in wet or cold conditions.  I also like to beat up putters a little bit, to straighten out the flight path.

I throw "Soft" S Wizards.  I like them on the firmer side of "Soft", and as tacky as possible.

That is exactly why i recently switched to Gateway putters, they have a very nice tackiness.  Currently in my bag is a soft (firmer side of soft) Magic.  I have my back up magics in Michigan & will be checking those out & bringing home next week.

soft, 3x jk avairs. before that it was soft magnets. they would get quite floppy in the summer though.  the 3x gets soft in the summer but not as floppy as my soft mags did.
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

I throw a 180g Star Aviar putt/approach for anything within about 75-100ft. It's got an extremely consistent flight path and the glide is easy to control. It does have a little more chance to roll out, but that's acceptable by my standards.

Anytime the plastic is making a good putt miss, by being too slippery or too bouncy, I give up on that plastic.  I putted with the Z Magnets for awhile but they were too slippery off the chains.  Ditto the Z Puttrs.  The Discraft soft plastic seems to be grippy with the chains but not too bouncy.

I tried the center weighted Crossfires last year, and really liked the way they flipped out of the hand, but the plastic was too bouncy off the center post.  I had way too many good putts come right back at me.  I said no more when I had an awesome lefty drive at a clutch time in a round and then got center posted on a ten footer.  It was a doubles tournament, and my partner covered for me, but that was the last straw.

[plug=shameless]I've thrown all my 1000+ rated rounds throwing soft Magnets.  I was also wearing New Balance 609 Crosstrainers.   ;D [plug] I just bought a new pair of 609s and they feel just like the old pair new.

I prefer Rocs, Wasps, Wizards, Valkyries, Eagles, Orcs, & Detroyers as my putter. Any time my Aviar comes out it's an adventure.

That is exactly why I switched to Magics, the plastic feels more like rubber, very chain grabbing material.

So when Brett says that he threw his putting disc 350 feet don't be so impressed. ;D

That being said, he has me throwing Aviars for distance and I pretty much throw them the same distance as Valkyries, Eagles, Orcs & Destroyers.  Its an upside down world.

d challengers, i like consistency and mass produced so its easy to find replacements

Pro plastic rhynos...  Although I saw a guy the other day with a soft candy rhyno.  I wouldn't mind picking a couple of those up...
