12 hole course in dekalb, il

for the past couple months danny ward and myself have been designing a 12 hole duel tee course in dekalb il.

its located on southpoint drive at the green tree ball golf course and southpoint center banquet hall.
the layout hugs the edge of the ball golf course and raps around the south point center
the longest hole is 411ft and the shortest is 208. there is hyzer, anhyzer, roller shots on almost all the holes, shooting into tree groves, over berms, off a putt putt course, slight elivation changes. one water hazard on hole one.

we have every hole pretty much set and measured for both tees.
we are in the process of pruning some shrubs and getting the baskets now, if anyone is interested in donateing anything shoot me an email groovn420@hotmail.com

its on private land, disc golfers share a club house with ball golfers. there are permanent bathrooms, a bar, other refreshments, food, airconditioned sitting area all in the club house. theres a big tiki hut for chillin it holds about 50 people, itll have soda machines in it.

we owe much thanks to George (the owner of all the land ) for having a dream of wanting disc golf.

Duain is there going to be a fee to play? Can the disc golfers use the carts?

unfortunatly the disc golfers cant use the carts, as of right now we are trying to keep it no cost, but there was talk of a dollar a day pass, but im workin torward free

i forgot to mention we are going to stock discs in the club house also. after we get setup innova is gonna stock some discs, they just need the course in place first.

How'd you get innova to supply discs?  I'm in process of installing a course in Gilberts and would love to get Innova to supply some discs that could be kept at Village Hall or something like that...

probably involves Innova selling discs to the pro shop & then the pro shop in turn selling the discs to golfers....

all we did was call innova told them what we were doing and they said since we have a club house with a pro shop that is considered a physical location they would allow us to purchase and sell discs at dealership price. you have to have a physical pro shop or sporting goods store to become an innova dealer now cause so many people became dealers to start online stores and there are way too many.

awesome!  Can't wait for this course to be ready for play, I head back up to DeKalb towards the end of August and that area was definately in need of  another course.  Keep us updated Duain.  Didn't even know there was a golf course over there

alright some more info

we are waiting authorization to order the baskets, i believe there is going to be a dollar a day charge, we got some landscaping to do but that will progress as the course molds its self and we get feedback from players when the baskets are in and people start to play.

still waiting on baskets, there was some changes in management and other factors. ive been waiting for that stuff to straighten out. everything else has been ready.
