Doubles begin March 9th.

Willow Stream Park in Buffalo Grove, IL

Tee off at 5PM sharp since we're short on daylight, so be sure to get there earlier to sign up.

The format will remain the same as last year for now.

  • $5 entry which includes $1 ace fund
  • Optional $2 CTP
  • Alternating Concrete+Blue Alternates and Concrete+Red Alternates
  • Walking path OB

I am toying around with a few ideas to improve this league and I will be asking players for feedback during the first few weeks of league. I'm considering bringing a points system back in with cash payouts to point leaders as well as a possible singles league for Discontinuum tags on a separate day (maybe even rotate courses) to help move some of those tags and encourage more interaction among members. If any changes will be made, they won't happen until closer to summer time and I will announce them here first.

Thanks for taking over the league, Roman. I'm glad it won't be going away, I had a lot of fun running it with Rocky and on my own. I got a new job over the winter - I'm both living and working in the city now, which means I can't really commit to this anymore. Not very easy to make it from the loop to Buffalo Grove by 5:00 without taking a train or something. Plus the wedding plans are taking up a lot of time and that will only increase over the summer. I'll make it out a few times for sure though.

No problem, Mike. We don't want to see the leagues at BG end either. It's a course many of us learned to play on and it will remain close to us even if it's just a simple 9 hole to many.

Just a reminder, the leagues start tonight. Check in at 4:45PM, tee off at 5PM sharp. We're playing concretes and reds.

8 people showed up today and we finished with enough daylight left to play another round of 9 after leagues. Mike Baranowski and Mike Kutella took first place shooting 14 down.

Concretes and blues next week. Check in at 4:45PM, tee off at 5PM sharp. Ace pot starts at $8.

14 people showed up today. Sean Cosby and Todd Cratty took first in a playoff with a 12 down. Justin Machado hit an ace on hole 7 for $23, so we get to reset our ace pot only 2 weeks into leagues.  Thanks to everyone who came out to play, the weather was fantastic.

Concretes and reds next Monday, March 23rd. Check in at 4:45PM, tee off at 5PM.

Concretes and Reds today. The forecast says the rain showers should let up this afternoon and the big rains aren't going to start until late this evening, so we should be okay for leagues. Tee off is at 5PM.

The course was pretty empty today because of the weather, so we made the last minute decision to play gold tees instead of reds.

12 people played today. Mike Musich and Dan Pantalone took first place with 8 down, Mike Liden and Jake Sherman followed with a 7 down.

Tyler Whitaker hit an ace on hole 3 to take home all of the $12 in the ace pot that was just cleared out last week by Chado. Matt Buttliere took both CTPs on holes 2 and 5 at $12 each, for a total of $24. Kinda funny that he got more money from CTPs than Tyler got from his Ace.

We are going to play Concretes and Reds next week (really this time).
START TIME WILL MOVE TO 5:15PM.

ONE MORE NOTE: A score card was turned in today with the wrong final score. The same thing happened last week. I am going to start stroking people 2 strokes for wrong scores on their cards from now on. Pay attention!

Mike Musich

Hey guys, updating for Roman.

Leagues WILL be going on tonight, at 5:15, concretes and reds tonight, so come on out.  Roman was nice

enough to go out and shovel off the tee pads, so they should be nice and dry by the time we start tonight.

Hope to see everyone out there!

roman

Thanks to everyone that showed up. We had 12 players tonight and the course all to ourselves. Todd Cratty and Mike Kutella took first shooting 7 down with Matt Buttliere and Jake Sherman coming in a close second shooting 6 down. Matt also took the CTP on hole 5, and I got the CTP on 9. No aces were hit.

We're playing conretes and blues next week. Ace pot will start at $12. Tee off at 5:15PM.

Scores for today can be found here: http://www.notroman.com/bg_leagues/03302009.htm

roman

Just a reminder that leagues are tonight. We're playing the concrete and blue tees. It will be cold and windy, so bundle up. Tee off at 5:15PM. Ace starts at $12.

roman

All the snow that fell melted and the sun came out to make for a nice day to play some disc golf. 10 people showed up to play. Paul Priest and I took first in a playoff with Mike Kutella and Mike Baranowski, both teams shooting 8 down. Matt Buttliere took the CTP on hole 7 and the other Matt got the CTP on hole 4. No aces were hit.

Next week we will play concrete and red tees. Cards will be drawn at 5:15PM. Ace pot will begin at $22.

Due to some work obligations and the crappy weather today there will be no leagues. We're going to play concrete and reds on next Monday, April 20th. I will be out of town, but I will have someone else to run it. Cards will still be drawn at 5:15PM.

Mike Musich

Hey guys, so we decided we are going to have an unofficial league today since roman cannot make it and will not be running it.  The only difference this means is that there will not be an ace fund today.  We will still have the regular payouts and ctps, just no ace fund, so hopefully the weather doesnt scare people away, the rain should be done now until later tonight, so we should be good.  We will play concretes and reds, so we can just consider this practice for next weeks actual leagues.  Hope to see everyone out there!

Musich

Alright guys, so since Roman is currently out of town, I will be running leagues tomorrow.  As of right now the radar is pretty much showing that we are in for rain all day and night tomorrow, but it will be on and off and very light.  As of right now I am saying that leagues are still on, but I will make a final decision around 2 or 3 tomorrow depending on the weather and such.  Hopefully everything works out, and hopefully see everyone out tomorrow.  We will be playing reds and concretes tomorrow.

P.S.  Lost my buddha roc on Friday, roughly around holes 4-7, if anyones seen it, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know.  Thanks.

Just a reminder, sorry its a little late, but we WILL be having leagues today at 5:15, so hope to see everyone out there, the radar shows mostly nothing, maybe a drizzle here and there so we should be good.  See ya all there!

roman

Leagues tonight, we are going to be playing concrete and blue tees. Tee off at 5:30PM, ace pot starts at $22. $5 to play, there is also an optional $2 CTP.

Regarding the weather, we will play rain or shine as long as we have enough people. If there is lightning in the area we'd have to cancel for safety reasons and everyone will get their money back. If everyone had a chance to throw at the CTP holes, the CTP cash will be awarded to the winners and the rest will get their $5 back.

roman

Sorry for not getting the scores up from last week, I've been a bit busy. The weather last week was beautiful with the temperature in the 70s and partly cloudy skies. Surprisingly only 6 people showed up, the rest thought it was going to rain. Don't let the same mistake happen today, it should be beautiful out!

We're starting at 5:30PM, the ace pool will start at $28. Concretes and Reds.

When are you thinking about moving the start time up?

I know I told Nick at CAC that we will be starting at 5:45PM starting tomorrow, but I figured I would update that on here as well. I will move the time to 6PM on Monday, June 1st.

We're playing concrete and blue tees tomorrow. I will try to draw cards no later than 5:45PM. Ace pool will start at $40.

I got caught up with the scores tonight so here are the results for the previous two weeks:

A lot of people were scared away by the rain on April 27th, but the showers never made it far enough north to hit Willow Stream Park. If I remember correctly, it rained as close as a mile south of the park. The clouds actually cleared out pretty quick and we had a rather wind-free evening with the temperatures in the 70s. Don't let the weather fool you next time!

roman

Beautiful weather and a good turnout today. I'd like to thank for the Adler guys coming out, it was nice to see some familiar faces out there. You guys impressed all the locals around here. Overall 16 people showed up to play, with Nate Baron and Sean Cosby taking first place shooting 12 down. Nate also hit the ace on blue 9 to take home an additional $56. From what I hear the ace involved blasting through some bushes and bouncing off some trees before going in. Mike Baranowski and Dan Pantalone tied Todd Fanning and Paul Priest for second, both shooting 11 down. Todd and Paul won the playoff. Paul picked up a CTP on hole 1 and Matt Buttliere got the CTP on hole 4.

Next week we're going to play concrete and red tees. Start time again at 5:45PM. Ace pool will start back at $0.
