Adrian Sr, Mike C,  & I are meeting out at Bevier around 9am tomorrow to work on the course. I'll randomly post on this thread.

List to get done prior to IOS #1

1. Move basket #4
2. Move tee pad #9 to the top of the hill.
3. Move tee pad #13 away from tree.
4. Finish the marking arrows on  holes #7, #9, & #10.
5. Bridge between 17 & 18.
6. Walking stones in creek by 18.

All right. We got a lot of work done today. A big thanks to Roman, Stan, Mike, & Adrian Sr!  Below are the updates.

Hole #4 basket has been moved. Don't forget on & over the sidewalk is OB.

Baskets #8 and #11 were not very level and could be moved easily. We levled and stabalized both. They are very solid now.

#9's tee pad has been moved on top of the hill. It's quite a bit shorter and there will  be more birdie putts along with 3 putts  >:D.

#13's tee pad has been moved back away from the tree. It lengthened the hole about 10 feet and made it that much harder.

Holes # 1 thru 17 all have directional arrows on them. A big thanks to Mike Clark for heading that project. The course is very easy to navigate.

Extention of bridge on hole #16. We've moved an old section of the bridge to extend it on the east side of the creek. That will be finished at a later date. Some cement blocks were laid down to get over the mud. About 20 more will be placed at a later date.

Creek crossing to #18's basket. We built 4 steps on the west side of the creek. We found some big flat stones and placed them as stepping stones. The creek is very agile if you are somewhat mobile. Please watch your step.

It's not looking good for building a bridge between hole #17 & 18.

I was thinking about this hole and OB. Since the basket is so close to the creek, would it be better to have the creek as casual water rather than OB. My thought pattern is that if you are on the basket side of the creek, don't give golfers the 1m relief towards the basket. This may force uglier stances and make those "gimmes" that much tougher. If a disc rolls into the water, players can opt to play immediately behind the creek, but again playing at the bottom right against the water line.

Good work and THANK YOU!

I am happy to help with bridge-building (between 17 and 18).
Do you need stones, $ for stones, or what?

We discussed the situation at the park. We are not sure what to do over there. The span of the creek is just too wide.

I actually came up with an idea that may or may not work. I need to get out there and evaluate the situation. I really wish they had installed the bridge on the left side of #16's fairway.

i was thinking you could move the basket to the top of the hill so if you go over its a big drop off down and if your short then its a tough up hill shot. this also would forse a bigger shot over the trees

Other work to complete before IOS #1.
Not sure when the next work day will be.

Moving #9 tee pad AGAIN! Doh. After playing this hole I made it too short. I think pushing it to the 310 to 325ft range is ideal.

Frame #13 & 16 tee pads. We plan on framing both of these pads with 2X4's and plywood. Does anyone have any material to donate? I have quite a big of wood in the garage and Adrian does as well. Jim said he has some wood as well. Tom McManus always has wood but that's not the kind of wood we are looking for.

Cleaning up the fairway of #13 & #16. There is quite a bit of dead wood down. It would be nice to clean those areas. If you do solo work out there please DO NOT cut anymore live schule or trees.

The creek will be cleary marked for out of bounds for IOS #1. That little hole is going to play some havoc.

The reason the basket is on the hill.
1. Soccer field. The soccer field is less than 30ft  from the basket right now. Not many shots go to that area with it on the slope. If it was on top of the hill the soccer field would be in play and many shots would go long onto the field.
2. Having the basket on the hill brings the water into play not only on the drive but on any upshot or putts that miss with possible roll. The farther away from the water the less it comes into play.
3. Players have the option of playing safe throwing short of the water and trying to hit a putt. It's a decent risk/reward type hole. Even though this hole is on the short side (240ft), It has a wide variety of scoring separation typiclly 2,3, & 4.
