oh, and btw, Brett - Ken McCord's PDGA # is 34832.  I noticed that he wasn't associated with a PDGA # on the pre-reg list.

It seems to me that Novice players don't travel as much as higher rated players.  It looks like the Sterling local novice players are signed up.

Looks like FADE Gear  WILL be vending FOOD for the Tournament Saturday & Sunday. All proceeds to go for the local course improvements.
Hamburgers, Hot dogs Brats & Spicey Pork Chop Sandwiches, Chips & Cold Water with Powdered Drink to Mix.

Tim,

What kind of prices will you have for hot dogs and the like? Becky, Maddisen and I will be doing registration, and tournament operations all day so it really helps to have food on site. I just need to make sure I bring enough cash. But probably other people are more likely to buy as well if they know how much to plan on bringing.

Thanks,

Jon

My guess is less than Wrigley Field and more than the deal at IOS #2.

I emailed Tim the other day about it, still waiting to hear back.  He's usually really good at responding to my emails, so I'm guessing he's not sure yet.

For those of you who like those dyed discs I do, the Cubs, Bears, Yodas, Vaders, Superman, etc., Pitner will have a bunch of them at this tournament.

For the four of you who asked me to make specials, most of your discs are done or are getting done.

I went out to Sinnissippi today and man it is playing tough.  I think I only had a couple 2's in 36 (holes 3 and 4 were moved to easier placements after I played) holes.  1's new placement is pretty sweet- makes it a little easier on lefties.  8's (new?) placement was alright; lefty and righty route to it.
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

Another 10 pre-reg tonight.  Weather looks good for the weekend.  Register today.

where's all the novice players?!?  I'd happily be out there if I didn't have to attend to merch.  I was surprised when I only had 4 novice players at West Park, I know a lot of the "regulars" either moved up or can't make it this weekend, but that's really surprising.

I am doing the L.A.T.E. ride (overnight bike ride downtown Chicago, which remains me stay out of Chicago in a car on Saturday night) on Saturday night into Sunday morning.  One of my "novice" friends are out of town for the week so he is out for sure.  The other "novice" friend is leaning towards playing Saturday.  He might play AM2 instead of AM4 though, I am not sure what he decided yet.  I am working on a scheme to possibly make it down for the tourney and sleep in his car on the way back so I can still ride 30 miles on my bike at 2AM.  Because THAT seems safe...

I will probably be a Thursday 8pm decision.  Sorry guys.  I wish I didn't have an overloaded schedule.  I enjoy supporting some of the best run tourney is Northern Illinois.  I just hope my bachelor party doesn't end up on IOS #4 weekend.  I am SOOOOO hoping for the weekend after (Mike you better read this).

Hopefully Saturday...

Both my Discraft and Gateway orders were shipped today!  I have no idea what's in the Gateway order as I was expecting 3 boxes of stuff and they only shipped 2.  So hopefully I'll have a bunch of new putters - sorry, wasn't able to order anything else (budget constraints and all!).

From Discraft I ordered over 200 discs including some Ultimate discs, Z-Buzzz's (15 of them), 15 Stalkers and 10 Ringers.  First come first served on this plastic.  Hopefully I'll have them all in their bins by the end of night tomorrow.

I did not place an Innova stock order for this event because of the size of the custom stamp order.  So for those of you looking for more dry-fit polos (Sorry Kenny) I didn't pick up any more.  I did order some Discraft dry-fit polo's though.  The Innova stock selection is still good overall though.

Something like 800 new discs added to the inventory for this event and beyond.  Bring on those player packs and winnings!!

Jon - Tim might still be having computer problems.  I emailed him today with an order and haven't heard back yet.  That's very uncharacteristic of him.

Thats okay Scott you have lots of other good stuff.

Does anyone have an extra spot on the floor (close to sterling) where I can sleep on Sat night?

pdga#7648

Kenny, not sure yet, but me and my Brother may spend the night in a hotel Saturday night, so he can see the course after tourny ends Saturday. If we do, you can crash on floor free of charge. I should know more tomorrow evening.

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY AT 8:00PM

Trophy Note: Over the years the IOS team has tried to be creative with cheap trophies to keep payouts fatter. We have been using dyed trophy discs the last few years. At IOS #3 if you win a trophy disc you will get a IOS #3 Sinnissippi Open stamped disc with nothing on it. You can keep this disc, trade it for the same value disc of anything you want to throw, or you can choose to have it dyed as a trophy disc. If you chose to have it died it will be collected and mailed to you after it's dyed with division and place.

Check out this link for IOS #3 discs.

I think this is the largest pre-reg field we've ever had!

If you go with getting the dyed trophy disc I think you'll probably be able to get your name and/or pdga # put on the disc if you put that with the info that will go to Bruce to get dyed.

It looks like they removed the chance of rain from the forecast.  High in the mid 80s both days.

just a heads up. If you are staying in Rock Falls and are attending the player meeting Saturday night be careful traveling. the police usually do roadside checks on the bridges going from Sterling to Rock Falls at random times between 10pm and 3am from Thursday - Saturday. Moonlight Bay is about 2miles from the course and about 5-7 miles from lodging or camping in Rock Falls. Just figured some would want to know this. remember don't drive drunk.
