I had heard this from a guy at the disc store in Grayslake, that there was a 9 hole course opening next week in Mundelein, off of Diamond Lake Road by 83.  Any idea if it is true?  I haven't gone down there yet searching, but if anyone knows that would save time.

Anyone played this course?  Is it in the ground?

I live a mile away and I hang out right across the street from it damn near every day. The park is still closed to the public with the gate down across the driveway. I'll definitely check it out as soon as I see that gate open.

OK thank you. Could you just reply back to this post when it is open with your thoughts and stuff.

the store in Grayslake is the A2B Board Shop, just on the south east side of the intersection of 45 and Washington.  Its great, all Innova discs, and a lot of them.  Frequently restocked, have always found what I have needed.  And yeah, if anyone finds out when the course opens, let us know!

ah sorry about that, I live in Grayslake, and as the subdivision right there is still in Grayslake school districts, I always just think of it as Grayslake.

Its on the border of towns

Basically, East of 45 you have Wildwood, Third Lake, Gages Lake, and Gurnee. West of 45 you have Grayslake.

Ace on 120 by Jewel also sells discs but their collection is pretty crappy.
Don't forget your towel!

Does the ace sell anything other than quest discs yet?  I stopped going there a while back because of that, and the new shop has been great.

I talked to the Mundelein Park District today about the park and they said it's scheduled to open August 1st. I don't know if they'll have the course in by opening date, but you can always go check. I will be out of town that weekend, so I won't be able to check it out until Monday the 3rd.

I will be checking at the begginning of August. I can't wait to see how it plays.

I wouldn't expect much. I went out to the park during early construction, and the land is mostly open and flat. There is a ravine on the right hand side with woods, but I'm not sure if it's park property or not. Chances are it may be a wide open course that shares land with other activities.

It's not open yet but I played it last night anyway. This course is done right!! All holes have tee signs and the tee pads are framed and level fly pads with mach 5s that catch very well. The course is all very tight fairways through heavy woods. Anything off the fairway is total jail. There is some elevation and some very good holes. The course is short with 9 holes. Only one hole is over 300' which has a 15' fairway dogleg left slightly downhill (great hole). There are a few dog legs and a good mix of lefty and righty holes. The course flows well and the park is huge with plenty of room for expansion. The park has nice pavillions and bathrooms everything is new and the disc golf couse is in its own section not in the way of anything. I cant wait to play this course legally.
