I will be visiting Cali in a couple weeks and I am planning to play DeLavega and any of the surrounding courses in the santa cruz/san jose/maybe san fran area if there's time.  I have never been and would appreciate tips from anyone who has been there.  Thanks in advance for the help!

Dela for sure, and Novato (just north of SF) is worth a trip too. Haven't played Golden Gate Park; closed last time I was out there.

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

At DeLavega, make sure you know what Poison Oak looks like. Also, throw something understable on the last hole. Enjoy.

Thanks guys!  I just looked at the Novato course info.  that looks like one helluva course...I can't wait to get out west!

I will be driving up there from southern cal, so i'm going to try and see at least one on the way.  Ryan Ranch DGC looks like the best bet so far.  Anyone been there?

Just got back in town...played 9 courses along my trip up the coast.  I wish I could say that anything around here compares to the disc golf courses in California.  O0  I started my "tour" on the 24th and ended on the 29th.  Here's the list:

1)  Huntington Beach, LA area, 2nd oldest course
2) La Mirada, LA area
3) Pasadena (Oak Grove Park) Oldest course
4) Coyote Point (Lake Casitas National Park)
5) Waller Park, Santa Maria
6) Ryan Ranch, Monterey
7) De La Vega
8) Golden Gate Park
9) Stafford Lake, Novato

Looking forward to my next trip out west!
