With all of these new courses being put in, I need to ask if there is any, one single person, who has their hand in on the installations.  I am with Whirld Sports LLC, and one of our new, patent pending, products is designed specifically to make the experience of throwing a new course more user-friendly.  We manufacture the NexTEE.  The NexTEE can be positioned to point in any direction (the direction to the next tee pad), while being affixed to the base of a basket.  Here is the link:  http://www.whirldsports.com/?nav=nextee

If anyone knows of someone who is in charge of installing a course, or is planning on installing a course, please have them contact Whirld Sports via the contact info on the website.  www.whirldsports.com

At the Memorial Championships in Fountain Hills a few weeks ago, Brian Graham, Executive Director of the PDGA, immediately asked if we would send him some NexTEEs to be put in the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, GA.

As we ask on the website, "does your course lead the way?"  Please check us out and offer your feedback here.  FYI...current prototypes, as seen on the website, do not have the yellow vinyl coating on the upper "T" that we are in the process of adding to it.  This will make it more noticeable, as well as, making it less destructive to discs.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.  Feel free to browse the rest of the site, too!

i saw them on your wesbite yesterday along with the turky baster disc suctioner...what you have for the next tee is whats been done for quite some time now with discs and spray paint. makes sense but not worth whatever the expense might be compared to 18 random bricks

Well, appreciate the comment, but following that logic it would seem that you have no need for baskets either because trees and garbage cans can serve the same purpose.  The whole point of the NexTEE is to make it better...Making the Whirld Better.  Bricks, spray paint, trees and garbage cans can make for the most challenging of neighborhood courses, but the next level of the sport, if we want it to get there, is to turn "parks with baskets" into "disc golf courses".  That's one of our goals.  Thanks for the feedback.

Going to "hopefully" getting new baskets on our course soon, and I considered NexTEE for about 5 seconds, until I saw the price. good luck though.

Ok...I'll bite then...So what should someone expect to pay for a set of 19 lazer cut, galvanized steel NexTEE's that are bent and form designed to fit on both DGA and Innova baskets.  Not to mention that they will also have a yellow vinyl coating on the upper T to make them more visible and less of a shock should a disc hit it?  What should someone expect to pay for something that is designed to last just as long as you would expect a basket to last (barring vandalism)?

A Discatcher Pro lists for $375, so for a little more than the price of one basket, you can have an 18 hole course outfitted with NexTEEs.

Interested to hear what you think?

How much if we bought a set for each of the 3 courses in Springfield at the same time?

JWT...Hey, tomorrow when you have an opportunity, give John a call at the phone number listed on the website.  I just talked with him and he'll be expecting you to phone him.  He'll talk costs with you then, and he'll have a few questions for you, as well.  Thanks.

Updated NexTEE prototype image for those who may be interested.

We have been able to finish up some of our prototypes (version 1.2, if you will) that include the vinyl coating we were not able to get on in time for the Memorial.

They should be ready for sale to the public in April!

I like the idea and it adds value - no question there. What happens when the basket manufacturers simply add them (something similar) into their packages though? I'm sure you've thought of it already, but I'd be setting up those partnerships straight at the source first before trying to work on the public. Keep in mind, a large handful of disc golfers are easily swayed enough to buy anything that says Innova on it.

Good point, which is exactly why we have patents pending on all three of our technical gear products.  If Innova, Discraft, or DGA want to roll the dice and produce something that actually infringes on our patents, then they can do that if they so choose.  Wouldn't make for a good business decision on their part, since the NexTEEs are designed to work right along with their baskets, and a patent is a patent.

NexTEEs are on sale now!  So we are calling on all TD's, Course Pro's and Club Presidents to check out the site and "Lead the Way!"  For just around $20 per basket, an entire course can be outfitted.  Springfield Disc Golf Club took the lead and already has them installed for the Mother Lode.  I'm going to reference Trotter here, as he was the lead guy for the SDGC with these, so if you need a testimonial, I'm sure he'll be happy to tell you his impressions.  Can't wait to get down there this coming weekend to see them installed!  If you have multiple courses to manage, please call for pricing!  (877)-WHIRLD-1

I am a fan... 2 nights after work and I had all 36 of them installed at Lincoln.  We really modified the layout at Lincoln Park when we added the three holes on the south course and people have been able to use the NexTEES to even find the holes in the woods - holes they have never played before.

The "confusing" layout of Lincoln has been a criticism for quite some time, so when a product came along that points people to the next tee area... it was a no brainer.

It's a cool idea. If I'm ever selling a course idea to a park I'll throw it in a proposed budget. It is certainly several steps up from painting the spoke on the top rack and/or basket that points toward the next tee!

Jon,

We tried the painting of the spokes Red, White and/or Blue to point the next location, but we have multiple pin locations so it never lined up for the alternate pin locations...  These NexTEEs are adjustable - just turn and reset before snapping the lock.

Not to mention that many people will play the course and not notice the spoke color or not know what it means!
