Thanks for the recognition airspuds, I had no idea that the DI was out there covering that small tournament we had on homecoming weekend.  Case and I are planning on working closely with the club to improve on the course and try pushing to get a 9 holer on campus so that we can introduce even more people to the sport.  We are also looking to organize an upper-lower pool random doubles league out at Lohmann come spring time.  The backwards tees you laid out last year were fantastic, however we moved Hole 15 (shooting at 4's basket) out into the small clearing of trees because I smashed my hand on a tree that was right next to the box last year.

Unfortunately I will not be around for Dad's weekend as I am going to be reffing a regional Flag Football tournament out of town, but I will definitely keep up your markings of the backwards tees throughout the spring.  Are the backwards tees blue or orange and is the other color the longs?  I think there is definitely room for a couple temp holes, especially if you play up the West side of the park alongside the parking lot.  Good luck with everything out there and thanks for marking those backwards tees.

white  =  original set up
orange  =    there are some longer T positions ,  is that correct ?   you can see some of the beat up spots still
blue  =    reverse
you could also paint some ob around some holes  (  sand traps  )     yellow maybe

Im assuming I will be dropped off at the course sunday morning , kid wont wanna get up ( and I aint waiting in line for breakfast cause every other idiot dad is in town ) with supplies and my brother owes me  so I gotz time to do this right

is the port a john still there ?

Just to confirm  -  pitners bro showed me the tess, i just bought the blue paint

just a thought for campus   -  frisbees only course

there was a course on campus between  84-88  ,  any  thoughts where that was ?

have you played the danville course  ?

I attached an image with the approximate backwards tees that we always play, it was very similar to the ones that you had marked last year, like I said, the only major difference is on 15 because that tree really messed up my wrist for awhile.

Last time I was there I do not remember there being a port a john.  I know last year they had it around Hole 3, but I don't remember seeing it a few weeks back.

There is plenty of room for a real course on campus, its just a matter of getting somebody to approve the idea.  There is a great chunk of land just west of memorial stadium that is used for tailgating.  If we could get a nice 9 holer in there and just close it on Football Saturdays it would make much better use out of that area.  There is also a lot of room by the complex play fields off of Lincoln and Florida with some pretty sweet hills if Campus Recreation would ever approve that.

When they had the course on campus it played through the area that is now the Orchard Downs and the arboretum.  There is a big hill in the middle area and some nice water as well.  It would be a great spot for a course, but I think the university really wants to preserve the trees in that area and keep them clean of nicks and such so I don't think that would be a viable option for the future.

I have not played the Danville course.  I have heard about it, and was going to hit it one weekend, but then I got word it was an object course and that really doesn't appeal to me much.  I know Brett visited that course and I believe he said it was pretty good for an object course, but I would ask him if you want to know more about the Danville course.

airspuds

Danville course??  Do you mean the one at Kickapoo State Park?  That course is very short and uses vertical wooden posts instead of baskets, but is fairly nice, otherwise.  Or is there a new course that I don't know about?

I have a friend that lives on the north side of Mahomet (off of rt 47), and he says that his subdivision is building a park with a small disc golf course next year, using private money.  I've tried to find more information on it, but can't seem to find anything.

Actually, the old course on campus was West of Orchard Downs and South of the Arboretum.  They pulled it out to make room for the Japan House and the hills for the Japan House.

Since they spent an obscene amount of money landscaping all of that area for the Japan House, I don't think they would allow a disc golf course to be added again.  It would ruin the look of it.

Wow! That is fantastic. I cannot be with the RSO all day Sunday but I will definitely stop by and talk to the president of the RSO. How many tags did you get and are you looking for compensation from the RSO? Definitely send them down with your kid and if you could give me contact info to get a hold of him that would great.

Case and I will also be starting a best shot doubles league on Friday afternoon/night.   More info and details to come soon!
