The day was sunny and hot - prime weather for a disc golf event! Shawn Fallon organized this event which was held at Pleasant Prairie's Prairie Days on Lake Andrea, just north of the IL border. Shawn asked me and Mark Andrews, a Milwaukee area Pro, to join him. We had a tent, table, handouts, brochures, signs, 4 baskets and tons of discs for people to use. On Saturday (the only day I have info on so far), nearly 100 people came by our "booth" to check out disc golf. Nearly everyone who came by was very supportive of the sport and found themselves having fun at this strange game they barely heard of.

My favorite visitors were 4 seniors, in their 70s, who play ball golf together. They were standing 75 feet away, trying to figure out what we were selling (we were one of 2 booths not charging anything); after some charming talk from myself, they played a round on our temp course (nice layout Shawn), they said they would totally support a game which is so much fun.  The kids loved it - many came back for another round later in the day - and some even witnessed an incredible ACE by Mark; it was from behind the first tee to the second basket, about 330 feet.  We were at the event from 9am until nearly 5pm on Saturday. And even though we was as red as a lobster, Shawn did it again on Sunday, with some help from Paul Kuffel. This report will continue . . . .
