Kind of weird to have pools right away considering round 1 is tee times. I just hope I get a later morning tee time on Tuesday so I have one day to sleep in a little!

I agree, why not just sort the Pros after Round 1.  They are giving you guys almost no chance to play with an elite player this way.  I don't get that philosophy.  I understand having a 'marquis' group for people to follow, but why not mix it up a little after that.

I'm in N Pool with Bruce, Kelsey, and Ray Hill.

They didn't even sort by rating, so who knows how that all went. My guess is that they still might do one big pool for the first round for tee times. Leaving tomorrow at 6am for Idlewild!

Played Idlewild in Burlington, KY on the way to Charlotte today.  It lived up to the hype.  As good as any course I've ever played.  Its got everything and its also super fun to play.

Idlewild is sick Dan!

I met Doug and Steven in Cincy on Thursday. We got a chance to play Mt. Airy. That is a great course too.

We got into town early afternoon on Friday. Doug, Steven, Paul, Mike, & and I played Hornet's Nest. Great layout and super fun. We got rained on the entire back 9. We played Nevin that night in great conditions.

This is by far the best Worlds I've been to and it hasn't even started. The courses are just sick! The house we rented is absolutely awesome! Should be a great week.

Got into Charlotte today just in time to check-in before it closed at 5pm.  Didn't see too many players at check-in, but Climo/Feldberg did roll in right as we were leaving.  Always cool to see the big dogs of disc golf.  My daughter tried her best to steal some plastic at the vendor setup.  Player pack was okay.  Pretty typical from what I've seen at other Worlds.  Best disc was a Nate Doss Titanium Nuke.

Immediately headed out to Hornets Nest.  Its in a very nice well maintained multi-use park.  Course has a bunch of tight tunnel shots.  Not much in the way of nasty schule.  It was definitely a fun round.  Played with some Grandmaster player who won his division in the distance comp with a 576 ft drive.  There are a bunch of holes you can deuce, I wouldn't call it extremely demanding, but it can definitely mess you up pretty bad on a number of holes.  A lot of elevated baskets, so I'm prepared to get my 3-putt on.

Pumped to be in Charlotte!

Good luck to all the locals. Keep the updates coming. It is nice to get some first hand accounts of the action.  Congrats to Steven for the under 19 doubles win and to making it to the final 8 in the putting competition.

Player meeting was monsterous last night. I've never seen anything like it in disc golf. The Charlotte Club is unreal.

Started off pretty good today on the front 9 at Renny. Shot a 28 which included a bogey 4 on #6. Total meltdown on the back. Missed 6 of the 9 fairways from the tee which cost me dearly. 44 whopping strokes on the back. Brutal!!!! Played with Taylor and he shot pretty darn good. Saw Kenny finish up on #18. He had a sick 3rd shot to secure his birdie 4.

This house is awesome to come back to. Been working on my tan all week. The 9 of us are having a blast here.

Sat and watched hole 18 at Renny after lunch today for a few hours. Saw just as many 7-9s as I did 4's, it was pretty wild to see people go OB time after time and tin cup it. Henry Childres was on the card with Brett and I today and he played great. Shot a 61 and hit the band twice from around 20. Fun to watch someone that knows the course and has the tools to do well. Nevin and Bradford tomorrow.

One thing I forgot. The tee times were posted at 1100pm for pros and around 1130pm for Ams. Super lame. At Renny we had tee times. There was no one there to start us. We just went when we thought it was time. Lame! Speaking of lame, no sort of pools after the 1st round.

I just saw a tweet from PDGA that Pro Mike Johansen shot -17 (41) in round 2??  He birdied every hole except 12.  WOW!

Been following the scores guys, good job today! look forward to the report.

pretty sick round by MJ 1112 rated i could only dream of that

I walked the course with the Pros today that MJ shot the 1112 rated round on.  Most of the holes are super tight tunnels, 280-350 ft.  To birdie all of those holes is just incomprehensible to me.  You've got to hit every line.  They seriously need to make disc golf harder for these guys.  Scores are super tight in Open.  Looks like Dana is shooting really well, but still has quite a few players in front of him.  Should be an interesting battle over the last few days, my money would still be on Schusterick.

On the other hand, they need to make disc golf easier for me.  Its been great getting to see these courses, but wish I could have made some shots out here.  My game has been pretty much embarrassing.  Its not a good feeling on these courses when you lose all confidence on the tee.  Hoping to shoot a respectable round at some point.  3 more chances, then operation shutdown.

Can't say enough about how great the courses look.  Charlotte did a great job with their preparation.

Played Nevin in the morning. Didn't throw terrible but didn't make it happen. Several basic shots with poor execution killed me. Dan came out to Bradford and gave me serious moral support. Thanks for carrying my bag. I have never quit an event of any sort during my life but I was very close to walking off the course today. I just went thru my round and I shanked 9 of the drives. I turned a possible 2 on hole 3 from 5 ft into a 4. It was rough. Cracked my best Roc so that is awesome.

That round by MJ just blows my mind!

I didn't sign up for the broadcast as I really don't have time to watch but I have been been following the scores. Its fun to see Climo and Schultz battling each other in Masters.  Have you guys had a chance to see any of their play?

CEValkyrie

I woke up today and was ready to head to Renny. Got in the car and decided I really didn't feel like playing a tournament round. My first DNF.  I headed north to Baily Road. It's one of the easiest courses in the Charlotte Area that I've played. After that I played Stumpy Creek. Super fun and tough course. The short tees are very challenging and the longs are just nasty. On the way back I stopped by Joe Gibbs racing. The shop was great. They had cars and display cases in the front. When you went in you could see all the cars being worked on and a monster merchandise store. I had a fun day considering the decision not to play. Looking forward to tomorrow. Headed out to play a few more new courses.

Steven is in the mix in AMs. Really exciting to see DISContinuum members do well at big events.

I drove Roman out to RL Smith this morning and caddied for him. What an absolutely sick course it is. I saw Bruce and Kelsey hanging out. After the round we headed out to Gastonia and played this nasty 9 holer called Goat Island. After we played an 18 holer called Bradley Center. It was a pretty fun course. Watching the semis back at the house on the big screen. Can't wait to play RL tomorrow morning.
