Dear PDGA Tournament Director and/or State Coordinator,

It is the time of year to start fleshing out the 2012 Tour Schedule.  The PDGA Board of Directors has finalized on a schedule of eight Majors and six National Tour events for the 2012 season and they are listed in the attached "2012 Majors and NT Schedule.pdf" file. As is usual, the PDGA office will manage the process of scheduling the A-Tier events around the Major and National Tour events, while using Table 5 of the PDGA Tour Standards - "Required Minimum Distances Between PDGA Tour Events" to enhance our members ability to attend as many higher level events as possible, while protecting those tournaments from saturation that would adversely affect attendance and/or opportunities for sponsorship, spectators, and media coverage. For your information I have included the preliminary 2012 PDGA Tour Standards.  Please note the summary of changes on page 1 as they pertain to A-Tiers.

Please send me the below information ASAP concerning your planned 2012 SuperTour A-Tier event:
Tournament Name:
Tournament course or courses to be used:
Tournament Town and State:
Tournament Director:
TD Email:
TD Phone:
Pro, Am or Pro/Am:# of total holes to be played:
Expected cash added to Pro Purse::
Preferred Date (MM/DD):
First Alternate Date (MM/DD):
Second Alternate Date (MM/DD):

Please be sure to provide at least a Preferred and First Alternate Date for your event.  Please also be aware of the provided Major and NT dates and their proximity to your intended tournament location. Please get this information to me no later than next Friday, November 11th As soon as we get the A-Tiers scheduled we can then release that calendar to the PDGA State Coordinators so they can start scheduling B and C tiers. Please feel free to share this email and the attached schedule. Thanks for your time and everything you do for the sport of disc golf! Andrew   Andrew "Big Dog" SweetonPDGA Tour Manager

wow did you just get that? seems like extremely short notice for TDs to get their plans together.

Short notice for an A-tier? No. I know for past years A-tiers are supposed to have sanctioning in by December 1st. For the PDGA to take care of scheduling the A-tiers, this would be considered a normal amount of lead time. Other TDs for B and C tiers are already planning for next year.
